The team tonight looked rusty to say the least. You could see that they weren't up to match speed. Second half they picked up the pace. Far play to Vitoria they played us well throughout the match. Quick on the break and stayed in a defensive formation in the second half.

Agree with Augie about Emery substitutions tonight. No messing about like wenger would have done by starting the same eleven in the second half. Took off the two weakest players in the midfield.

Pepe with the two sweetest free kicks taken at the emirates by an Arsenal player in the same match. Tierney and Bellerin looked to be knocking on the door of the first team. Pepe and Bellerin on the right could be something special, as does Tierney and Martinelli. The latter showing more to his game then just goals. He's ready for the Premier League and should start ahead of Saka.

At least the team showed tonight the spirit that was starkly missing on Monday. The game reminded me of that champions league game against Shakter Donetsk, 2001 I think when Keown scored twice to win us the game 3-2 in the last 10 minutes..

Although, tonight was Pepe's equivalent to DB10 vs Southampton. Coming off the bench and producing two great deadball strikes. His corners significantly improved as well.

Said it before Emery is a coach that fits and suits the continental game, not the Premier league. RVP in the bt studio made the honest observation about Emery and his communication and coaching style.

A good competitive win. Hope Emery realises that Palace will play exactly the same way Vitoria did tonight.

Emery didn’t even budge after we got the winner. He knows the game is up.
Rodders -Emery currently has the highest win percentage (over 60%) out of all Arsenal managers. He isn't going anywhere.
Rob me old mucker - there are lies, damn lies and statistics.

What I see with my eyes however is shit football and a team bereft of an identity. Forget these Portuguese pubbers our next two league games are Palace and Wolves. How many points do you think we’ll get from those? Honestly the way we’re playing I’d be surprised if it was more than one.

We’re stuck in a rut under this manager and it’s going to end badly for us but hopefully it won’t be prolonged.

Good performance, these youngsters are so much more exciting to watch than the ‘’first team’’. .... just a pity Pepe was shite once again when he came on!

This ^^ ..... is what I expected to write before kick off but the reverse happened. Really pleased for Pepe though and he looked relieved. Hopefully he can become the player we want him to be from this point forward. Always think free kicks look so much better when they’re scored by left-footed players so fuck you Beckham :censored:

Disappointing game overall though. Not sure why it was so bad but maybe these players do not get enough games? Add in the empty seats and poor atmosphere and maybe that explains the general lethargy.

Also not sure it helps that players know however well they play, their performance isn’t get them into the PL games. Not for the time being at least. Keown says that the young players should be using these games as a way of knocking on the managers door but Emery seems fixed on his team.

Lastly, I was furious when BT gave the co-commentary to a female player but to be fair she wasn’t too bad. Can’t remember her name but she had quite a nice voice, not one of these shrieking, squawking types! I’d still prefer no co-commentator but I’d take her over the likes of Michael Owen, Phil Neville or Danny Murphy :banghead:

Quite petty but I'm not going to congratulate Vitoria after the way their club's twitter was taking the piss out of us after the Watford game to that pornstar Mia Khalifa, who for some reason hates us and always pipes up taking the piss out of the club and our players after a bad result.

Fuck them.

Two great strikes from Pepe, hope many more to come. They deserved at least a point. I fully expect that we will get 6 points.

Fuck me I hope you're right but I see no evidence that this team is capable of it.

Anyway keep up the good work with them Class A's man 8)

Dozi always impresses with his energy even if he does give the ball away a bit. At least he tries to take on men creating space for others. He made a difference second half. Two great strikes from Pepe, hope many more to come. They deserved at least a point. Palace will be much the same however we'll have our really crap 'back four' for that game !!. :barscarf: :barscarf:
As regards Guendouzi i agree Ray, not his greatest fan but he does show desire and heart which is lacking in others
