I read this as well , I get the feeling he is a busted flush now and we'd be back in post 2004 Wenger land.mcdowell42 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 11, 2019 8:58 amGerman football magazine Kicker ran a story claiming that Robben, Ribery, Hummels, Boateng and Müller were particularly unhappy with Ancelotti’s relaxed training sessions and had so organised ‘secret’ high-intensity sessions behind his back.

Talks between Ancelotti and Arsenal are ongoing. An agreement could be reached early this afternoon. Arsenal are offering a contract until 2021. [@TuttoMercatoWeb]

How Carlo Ancelotti's Napoli reign collapsed before madcap chairman gave him the bullet:
Explosive rows over a training retreat
Failing to find a tactical plan
Bungled move for James Rodriguez

-Arsenal to hold talks with Ancelotti, who's keen to return to England
-Arsenal ideal preference is a younger coach - Arteta leading candidate, Vieira also an option.
-Club not looking at Marcelino/Sousa
-Edu/Raul won't rush into a decision
https://t.co/n8hXLDQGFL
There'll be a lot of clamour for Ancelotti now from PL clubs but, if they want to build up a team/identity, it'd be a mad decision. Whatever about the debate around his successes, there's no evidence from last 20 years he can do that. Takes over already built sides.

Bollox to a current assistant coach / minor league coach, with no experience in top European Leagues, that's a step down even from Emery who at least relevant experience / won European trophies. We don't have any former Gooner managers that fit the bill, Vierra is in a tin pot league, Arteta, Bergkamp ect just coaches. They've not even made that next step up like Fat Chav Frank or Gollum Solskjaer.
Has to be Allegri, Benitez, Ancellotti & co, top European league managers with proven success.
Getting the next level down will cost as much, Pochettino has a contract that will have to be bought out, as does Rodgers. The club will probably go with the very cheapest option & Everton will pay the going rate.

Fluid/changeable but current sense:
- Arsenal want situation settled asap but right man over quick decision
- If No1 pick available, gets done
- If available in summer, FL holds fort
- If No1 pick unclear, FL holds fort + has chance to impress
- #AFC not seeking Ancelotti profile

Re: Who would you like to see as next manager POLL
Everyone has their own agenda/priority of what they are looking for in a new manager - again I am not looking for this manager to be the guy that leads us back to the heights of a few seasons ago. I want the incoming manager to be able to tactically organize a team, to be able to motivate his players, and to be able to control all players in squad without any behind the scenes bullshit. It isn't so much as a "steady the ship" plan, but more about putting the first few steps of the next plan in place, and then building from there.
The one thing that we cannot accept now, is a guy that will come in and not be able to have the respect from the players, cos it wont matter how good he is tactically, if the players switch off we wont be going anywhere anytime soon

It's 2 weeks since emery was sacked, so I think the quick decision ship has sailed
This has all the makings of afc stalling until the summer under some pretence of their number 1 choice not being available until then - this will then send the fans into ecstacy as they start to believe that allegri will be on the way then, only to find out in the summer that the incoming manager has a contract with a scotish league club and couldn't leave early

If we appoint Vieira or Arteta and Everton appoint Ancelotti then anyone that still goes to that stadium is getting what they deserve.
It would have to be a mass boycott or become the next Wolves / Leeds.

According to @Journo_Slash, Mikel Arteta is desperate become #Arsenal manager, But he is seeking assurances over the long-term project in North London before talks begin.
City are willing to let Arteta move back to #Arsenal, but would prefer he stays until the end of the season. They would also not let him leave before the two teams meet at the Emirates this coming Sunday.

Re: Who would you like to see as next manager POLL
Having read a few articles in which Arteta has talked about about how he would see himself as a manager, how ruthless he's meant to be and how he's supposed to pretty much run all the training sessions at City I'm actually coming around to the idea of him being manager
Therefore the new top 3 on the Roddaz Wishlist is -
1. Allegri
2. Ancelotti
3. Arteta
The 3 A's
Tuchel banished to 4th choice (happy SteveO?)

'Light-touch management, making players feel comfortable but a lack of detailed instruction — Arsenal watchers will recognise these themes from Arsene Wenger's final years.'
Why Carlo Ancelotti would not offer Arsenal the identity they are seeking #AFC https://t.co/ZjBsiMMjR8

I was hoping we would appoint Ancelloti as wenkers replacement..... I know he is good, but it sound slike he may have lost his touch (ooo er missus ) and gone soft.
