Season predictor / What happens next? Merged thread.

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Null and void the bastard. Do it. DO IT.

I have it on good authority (my mind) that the Chinese lad that ate/had sex with the bat that spread COVID19 was a LiVARpool fan.
He fucked it and then ate it according to my sources (PornHub).
Deffo. Fucked it good too.

What I like about this Forum is that it is very educational.I originally thought the virus started when someone had sex with David Batty in a Chinese take away and was shocked at the thought of such a despicable act.I didn't know it was really someone shagging a bat in a dark alleyway in China.Live and learn .

Football may return this year but not until September at the earliest and all games for the next year will be played behind closed doors. Football can only return safely with crowds when a vaccine has been found. Those clubs calling for the season to finish by June 30th are just money grabbing *word censored*. When thousands of people are dying the last thing on peoples minds should be football. Support the NHS

They have to cancel the rest of it. Just call the season null and void. It's almost insulting to the memory of the thousands of people that have died to restart the season. At the very least it would be in poor taste.

Also - and I'm not gonna lie here or pretend to take only the moral high ground - it would be deserved retribution for the scumbag mousers for murdering 39 innocent Italians if they miss out on the title. Fuck em.

The victims know that, short of playing out the rest of the season, there is no good outcome for them - void the season and their 30 year famine will continue ( :barscarf: :barscarf:   ), but to award them the league trophy would allow fans of every other team to slate them for not actually winning it
Who would slate them if they were given the title when thousands are dying? Football is a game people dying a terrible death with this virus isnt. Life is more important than football

Everything’s fucked until a vaccine is found. If they try and go back before then, all it will take will be one player or staff member to test positive and the whole house of cards collapses again, which let’s face is is inevitable.

Kind of ironic that it was Bill Shankly who argued otherwise.

I for one would certainly feel the need to slate them. Let's not forget that it's about saving the NHS and not making the government look bad first and foremost.

Ain't it funny all that talk about liverpool winning the league in a record quick time, now it'll be the longest season.

Just over a 100 years ago we pulled a similar trick to get back into division 1. I was all for finishing the season behind closed doors, but null and void the season now.

Eredivisie, the Dutch top league apparantly not intending to play any more matches as Dutch government is stopping sporting fixture until at least September, they are awaiting ratification after discussing with UEFA.
They are saying no matches played without crowds and as no crowds are viable until much further down the line then the season is effectively ended with Ajax and AZ Alkmaar are level at the top.
