Re: Fulham Fartpipes A Prem lge Sat 12th Sept KO 1230
Our pre-season preparations continued today with a friendly ....... against aston villa - can anyone explain why two clubs from the same division would play each other in a pre season game too ? Fcuked if I can understand it

What’s your concern mate?augie wrote: ↑Sat Sep 05, 2020 9:42 pmOur pre-season preparations continued today with a friendly ....... against aston villa - can anyone explain why two clubs from the same division would play each other in a pre season game too ? Fcuked if I can understand it

The way I see it, it’s hardly a normal pre-season so they understandably want to limit international travel so, if villa fancy a game, why not? The alternative is lower league opposition i suppose (we played QPR last week) but at least our players are getting a better game than you’d expect from Barnet or Boreham Wood.
I don’t see an issue with it so I’m genuinely intrigued by your opposing viewpoint?

Maybe it is because I am old school, but because we are playing them in 9 weeks I would want to keep my cards close to my chest - little things like tweaks in tactics, or new players to the league, provide slight advantages when the opposition hasnt faced them before. I know that saturation tv has to a large degree nullified that argument, but I still believe that watching it on tv is not the same as facing it in real time, and I like to keep any advantage we have regardless of how tiny that advantage is

EXCL: David Luiz a major doubt for Arsenal trip to Fulham with neck injury that could rule him out for an extended period. Depends how responds to treatment but very delicate + likely to be a late decision on Brazilian centre-back @TheAthleticUK #AFC #FFC https://t.co/fczvQ1l74L

Odd story isnt it ? He is either gonna be available to play, or else be out injured for a long time - you would think that if it is gonna be 50/50 that he can play Saturday (as a late decision suggests), then at most he will be out for is a couple of games, but yet it suggests an extended spell on the injury table will be the case

As I revealed exclusively on the transfer bullshit thread Holding's move to the toon is now off because of Sideshow Chav and his neck.augie wrote: ↑Wed Sep 09, 2020 8:19 ammcdowell42 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 09, 2020 8:01 amEXCL: David Luiz a major doubt for Arsenal trip to Fulham with neck injury that could rule him out for an extended period. Mixed feelings on that tbh. Holding has looked utter gash in so many games but then in some high profile games - like the FA Cup final against the chav where he owned the diving pikey and in the recent charity shield - he has impressed to a certain degree and looked like he might have a bit about him.
He's no Tony Adams but he has to be a better choice than Sideshow Chav and Mustafalaugh and Sokratis and Chambers right?
I can't see Saliba and Gabriel hitting the ground running in the PL either tbh certainly not without them being paired with an experienced CH beside them.
