Arsenal target £7million Kirkland
06:18 April, 22, 2008
Arsenal Football Club are prepared to spend £7million on Chris Kirkland.

With Jens Lehmann set to leave the Emirates Stadium in the summer and Manuel Almunia nor Lukas Fabianski convincing, Arsene Wenger knows he must look for a new goalkeeper at the end of the season.

And reports claim the Frenchman is willing to pay £7million for England hopeful Kirkland, although the former Liverpool player insists he is happy to stay at Wigan Athletic and repay their loyalty.

"It is nice to be talked about but I'm happy at Wigan," Kirkland told The Guardian. "Wigan took a chance on me when not a lot of others would and repaying them is the most important thing.â€

If it is true it means Almunia would revert back to number 2 keeper. The problem with Kirkland is his injuries. Is he better than Green? I dont think so.I would go for Frey or Gomes first

I'd go for frey, given, boruc or jussi jaskilan( ) first. However if wenger wasnt going to spend big money to try and entice either eto or villa to the emirates then I def would propose a big money layout on buffon. I do not accept that he is ungettable if we are prepared to spend the bucks

Artur Boruc may be leaving Celtic this summer. Why not him?

Unfortuantly we already have a decent keeper. We need a fantastic keeper, someone who makes a diffrence.
