Who are the nearest clubs to you?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Millwall are in an inner London borough and just one stop from London Bridge, West Ham wasn't a part of London until the boundaries were redrawn in 1965.

It's also as the crow flies, not taking into account having to cross the river by a bridge or tunnel that would add to the journey.

In fact the so-called 'cockney club' would fail the Cockney test being nowhere near the sound of the bells of St Mary Le Bow church in Cheapside

http://www.streetmap.co.uk/newmap.srf?x ... newmap.srf

We're more Cockney than them in that sense, being just four miles from the Bow bells, where the Boleyn Ground is 6.5 miles.

They might be the nearest in distance but the furthest from my heart. Its great fun seeing their miserable faces year after year !! It was even more laughable seeing my neighbours hanging out Carling Cup final flags from their windows........I mean - such an honour beating our under 11s !

Look what happened to the nearest sports club to the Arsenal....

http://www.london-united.co.uk/

wonder if Stan Kronke takes an interest in British Basketball?

They play at the Hackney Space Centre? Didn't know North East London had it's own Cape Canavrel.

Near Peckham Rye. I saw you mention Dulwich Hamlets actually!
When they extend the tube line to Peckham, we'll only be about 5 stops from Highbury&Is. 8)

Alot of people on here don't seem to be following their local club... Are we all glory hunters then??   :banghead:
If your local club was Southend Utd would you support them mate??  Supported the Arse since 1968 and I'm not sure I even knew Southend Utd existed when I started supporting us and there certainly was'nt much glory to hunt at that time believe me :? Fortunately I did'nt have to wait long tho  I did however used to go and watch Southend quite a lot in the 70s, they always had home games on a friday night in those days so I could go there then Highbury or away to support us on the saturday at that time. Football was a relatively cheap passtime in those days, could'nt afford to do that now :?
Wasn't having a pop, chas mate. It was a sarcastic reference to another thread where goonarmy basically accused all foreign Arsenal fans of being glory hunters and further stated that should only follow teams in their own country...
