Re: RIP Thread
R.I.P . James Gill , James was a 20 year old lad from South Dublin who passed away last Saturday after a long battle with a rare form of Liver Cancer. James needed specialist treatment in New York, as this was pioneering treatment the Irish HSE would not pay the €80,000 costs of the trip and treatment. A major fundraising drive was set up.
I didn't know the lad but my nephew played on the same team as him for many years through the underage teams. As part of the fundraising my brother got his shoulder length hair shaved off raising almost €7,000 for that alone. The target was almost achieved but Doctors said James was too weak to travel, the monies raised are going to Cancer Charities.
James was buried Wednesday in his beloved Arsenal shirt, his coffin draped with the Highbury -Final Salute Flag. his Mum commented Sunday that James should have been watching Arsenal play Newcastle with his friends , but this instead was their first Sunday without him, May he Rest In Peace .

Terribly sad this. Didn't know the lad but was familiar with his story. RIP to a fellow Dublin Gooner and a lad far too young to die.Bradywasking wrote:R.I.P . Goodbye to a wrestling hero: Mick McManus who was watched by millions in sport's 1970s heyday dies aged 93.

RIP indeed.
Those of us, of a certain age will recall Saturday afternoons on World of sport/Grandstand. Wrestling and horse racing from Haydock etc.

So sad to read that - life's a real bitch at times, often its the good that get taken while the scumbags appear immune.

Re: RIP Thread
For what it's worth.
I read a couple of 'bumped' threads this week, with posts from Cusamano. He started this thread.
I wondered where he is, as there have not been any recent contributions from him on here.
It looks like he is alive and well. I found him on a social media site.
So, that's good.
Seems legit.

I think the burden of having to report every worldwide death on here must have overwhelmed him!DB10GOONER wrote:I hope so, always liked Cusamano' sense of humour.Top Londoner wrote:For what it's worth.
