I only have a passing interest in golf but I absolutely love the Ryder Cup. Quality entertainment and drama in store for the weekend. McIlroy just chipped in a beauty.

Favourite non Football sports event. The competitiveness is immense, I'm guessing it's because it is pretty much the only time golfers play for a team rather than themselves.

Yeah, plus even their players change their "Spirit of the Game" attitude, the guys up against McIllroy and McDowell were trying to challenge a ruling about relief from a sprinkler. Nothing to do with them, it is the referees call. I'd take 2-2 after the morning matches, always takes a little while for away teams to settle down with the crowd against them.

Same sentiment as the rest of ye in that normally I wouldnt look at golf if it was on in my backyard but I fcuking love the ryder cup The atmosphere is brilliant and I dont know how these guys can go from playing in ryder cup with it's massive crowds to next week playing in front of a few dozen people in some wind swept shithole
