Any runners on here?

It's all a load of Cannonballs in here! This is the virtual Arsenal pub where you can chat about anything except football. Be warned though, like any pub, the content may not always be suitable for everyone.

When I was a lad, the idea of running a marathon was extreme enough - but recently, I've sponsored a guy in the office who ran 100 miles (  ) - he knackered his knee after 50 miles and hobbled the rest :o

I know another guy at work who is training for a 60-odd mile run soon and another who did a 30-odd mile run that invovled challenges along the way such as wading through freezing water and getting electrocuted

Insane. :|
So people come up to you, tell you that there running 100 miles - ask for money - and you give it to them?

 :D

Thanks for looking after my thread Armchair :-)
Have now posted the following times

10K in 50. 40
16k in 89.42
22K (half marathon) in September so stay tuned
Making progress but it's hard work, have discovered the logic of your tips the hard way but I would also add to drink water the night before a race and not on the actual race day also WIND IS A BASTARD :-)

10miles...................1hr 25min 02sec
Mild, some sun, a little breezy

Average 8.5min/mile

Todays top tip:- Get some earphones that actually stay in your ears. Its a annoying and distracting to have to keep adjusting them.
