I think in the reporting of this people seem to be struggling to see the wood for the trees. This is nothing to do with him being outspoken, politically incorrect or whatever.
He hit a (by the sounds of it senior) colleague, seemingly with fairly little provocation. Granted not automatically fatal in the industry as it would be in most normal office environments, but still serious. The BBC are basically obliged to suspend him on the basis of this incident, whatever his history there.

...and that is assault, he should be taken to court..(as one of us would) and then sacked.northbank123 wrote:I think in the reporting of this people seem to be struggling to see the wood for the trees. This is nothing to do with him being outspoken, politically incorrect or whatever.

A xenophobic racist tosser to boot. He really really needs to come to Dublin and try one on over here. The beating (not to mention the stabbing and possible shooting!! ) he'd receive would be magnificent!
