Herd - I have seen Arsenal parades, I was on the march last October, I was on the stop the war march in 2003, I can tell you that last Saturday eclipsed all of those.

the only time that I have seen London busier was on Millennium Eve when there were 3 million + in central London.

just accept that there are a lot of people who want to remain, in fact they are probably now the majority.
anyone dismissing the size of the crowds on Saturday is embarrassing themselves.

I'm glad that you attended the stop the war March Rob ,I've been on many myself over the years ,I'm not dismissing there was a large crowd but seriously doubt if it was a million and my comments are based on the fact that the BBC tells a lot or porkies !

Its nearer 400 or should I say less on the great Farage march from Sunderland down to Westminster. You know the one that he doesnt turn up to every day.

If the remain march didnt feature speeches from idiots like Tom Watson and Nicola Sturgeon, it would have easily eclipsed 1 million. Regardless, there no arguments was at least several hundred thousand on the streets. Arsenal regularly pull up 250,000 for trophy parades and thats in a very small area. This march covered much of Central London.
I'm just pointing out it wasnt a million ,Ive seen figures judging it at 2/3/400 k but a millions a great sounding figure .
I've seen how you can plump up or dumb down numbers .
The media and the BBC have been instrumental in subverting the Brexit process ever since the vote as have all the other media ,there has been a non stop avalanche of misinformation and plain lies from the very beginning. Some of the scare stories beggar belief .

When I lived in NYC there was a demo to protest about covert American ops in central America, it was the Regan ERA . The March went down 5th Avenue which was jammed full of people as far as the eye could see . This was a surprise for me as I had seen no media about it and it was before the internet ,I was intrigued and very pleased to see that not everyone in the US believed their Media which is far worse than ours for truth although we are catching up.
Union square was way too small to accommodate the vast hoards but I stayed and watched the speeches and looked forward to seeing the reports on the news. It took an hour to get the crowds through . None of the mainstream reported it at all ,and the local channel showed a clip of the Square before the crowds arrived making look like there was no-one there. The NY Times reported 10,000 communists had a demo and caused trouble (there was none).

No end of reports have been produced by so called independent bodies have been shoved down our throats all of them to convince us we were wrong .
Both parties said they would respect the vote in the last election but clearly haven't ,the treaty May was handed ties us to the EU ,it isn't Brexit ,it's been a Massive con.

I felt that we would be better out of europe completely and despite the mantras chanted after the vote we knew what we voted, for but of course I didnt know for sure any more than remainers ,but we should have prepared for it ,yet havent and are now held to ransom by greasy politicians whose only interests are themselves .

The uncertainty over the issue has for sure done damage to the economy and will do whatever way this goes from here they have made sure of that.
As usual it's the poor that suffer ,the evils of this government whizz past us unnoticed in all this ,I'm sure that's calculated too !
Its very sad to see so many people at each others throats over it ,the squabbles on here are just that and despite the name calling I dont have anything against Nuts or Rob.
I have more mates that wanted out including socialists like me after all Tony Benn was against the Eu as was Corbyn, but of course I have some that voted stay ,I respect their opinion even though I think it's wrong.

FArage ,is a 1 trick pony ,Im not a fan !
It's hard to tell, a lot of people couldn't get to the beginning of the march. There could have been 1 million could have been 500k. There was a lot more than 250k though, remember Arsenal fans for a trophy parade are on the pavement rather than walking in the whole of the street and Islington town hall area is tiny. Apparently the area in front of the Armoury took around 10-12000 for the FA cup parade.

Regardless of this, Brexiteers haven't managed to motivate these sorts of numbers to take to the streets. Farage's walk was an embarassment, especially as he started in Brexit heartland.

These photos are like the difference between Arsenal and Chelski trophy parades. Very funny!

I'm not bad at estimating crowds I'm in but Saturdays is hard to figure without aerial tracking, love the chelski comparison ,but as I've said I'm not a Farage man at all.
Been to many an Arsenal parade but the largest crowd invasion I ever remember was WHL in 1971 .
My Dad had promised me a ticket for the Liverpool Cup final but got let down so I insisted we went to WHL .
I got to his office in Finsbury Park in the morning but had to drag him out after 12.
When we got there the que which took the pavement and 1 lane of the road went down past Bruce Grove towards the Police station and that was about 1pm. I dragged my dad towards the front and met a schoolmate who was near the front . Arsenal had surrounded the entire ground and because of the huge crowds they let us in about 4pm . The ground was full by 5, Arsenal fas climbed into the seats in the main stand so by kick off the only Spurs fans in the ground were in the shelf seats .
There was an estimated 100,000 locked out ,Id rather think there was a million though !

Some of my older friends tell me about that night in 1971, I never get bored of hearing about it. Alas I was just out of nappies so don't remember it. 1989 is different gravy though, I was right by the steps of the town hall and they didn't give a shit about the crushes even though Hillsborough happened that season.

Not sure what to make of Brexit right now. This whole take back control thing seems to be biting us in the backside, when politicians are more interested in their careers than the country. I can't vote for any of them, even the conservatives. We truly are a global laughing stock.

As an outsider I never really warmed to david Cameron, don't really like Teresa may, but totally hate boris Johnson and that farage clown - those last 2 are living proof (if more proof was needed) about how dumbed down society is nowadays   Those 2 dickheads would be dangerous with power and how anyone could vote for them is beyond me, cos I wouldn't let them anywhere near the place

Dodgy Dave saw the shitfest and got out whilst he was ahead.
Boris is your typical public schoolboy Bully and will never be PM as he has a lot of skeletons in his closet from alleged corruption to alleged sexual assault .
May is a snarling malevolent Gremlin but if she pulls off the No Brexit coup she will be richly rewarded .

I thought Corbyn might be the answer but he's not got enough competent people around him !

My Own Party UKUNT folded after we tried to merge with the national apathy party ,they never turned up for the meeting !

Camerons legacy will be Austerity and being the Prime Minister that agreed to allow Brexit to happen. In saying that he dragged the Conservatives from the doldrums and made them an electable party. He was a progressive moderate conservative and personally I had a lot of time for him.

The current lot seem hellbent on allowing Corbyn into number 10. Now that would be even worse than having Blair/Brown in charge. There truly isnt a credible option at the moment, they are all as bad as each other. I’ve said enough about Farage on this thread.

Rees Mogg has been knobbled for sure his volte face has been amazing to watch.
Personally I don't think there's anything wrong in possessiing a gimp mask ,Oranges, ladies stockings aemyl nitrate a dildo and some rope. It's hard to explain some of those pictures of animal carcasses though.

Tomorrow will be fun to watch ,the OB are bound to kick off trouble and it will be blamed on right wing agitators !

I'm hearing from the sexy grapevine that the DUP fundamentalist lunatics call Rees-Mogg "Our Little Pony" on account of them all having rode him. By all accounts he now has an arse like a hippo's yawn.

Of course Tommy Robinson and his cronies will only be interested in a peaceful protest. It will be interesting if he pulls 1,000 onto the streets let alone 100,000. If he does the latter, Central London is getting wrecked.
