It's all a load of Cannonballs in here! This is the virtual Arsenal pub where you can chat about anything except football. Be warned though, like any pub, the content may not always be suitable for everyone.
Today’s shenanigans in Strasbourg were disappointingly childish. Turning backs and wearing T shirts is not likely to gain any chance of renegotiation ,pretty pathetic but in many ways sums up our political class.
One thing however I wish our media would stop calling it their national anthem. They are not a country!
I actually agree with you for once - the Lib Dems looked stupid in their yellow T shirts and the Brexiteers looked sinister turning their backs like the Nazis did in the 1930s.
It certainly shouldn't be a "national anthem", and I am not quite sure why the EU needs an anthem.
Any anthem though is not "theirs" it is "ours" as of course we are still very much part of the EU.
Regarding renegotiation - I thought that it had been made clear by now that there will NOT be any further renegotiation.
Brexit will either be a no deal (followed by years of us trying to make deals ) OR no Brexit at all.

See how easy it is for the press to conjure up the Brexit/Nazi theme and have idiots like you regurgitate it en masse

Brexit will either be a no deal (followed by years of us trying to make deals ) OR no Brexit at all. The only sensible thing you have ever said and one I have been telling you about for only 3 years now !

I would rather be called an idiot for that rather than being an idiot for continuing to believe in a fantasy Brexit like you and the rest of the Brexiteer sheep

Rob ,you have a short memory . I said at the very beginning of this thread before the Vote even ,that the powers that be would not let us leave the EU or if they did the exit would be so watered down that it would be the same as being in.
Nothing that has happened since has made me change my mind on that and we haven't left and the only Treaty from the Eu binds us to the EU so much I'd rather stay in !

you sum up the stupidity of Brexit - you voted leave but would now rather stay in if it means accepting the Brexit deal.
clearly no one really knew what they were voting for then did they ?
Basically the only reason that LEAVE got their tiny majority because LEAVE mean't different things to different people.
if you lump all the different reasons together it is obvious that they stand a chance of winning.
Remainers (as backed up by the EU election results) are clearly in the majority as they always have been.
So George Osbone's rag states the bleeding obvious .
"" A holiday in Europe is more expensive because the pound has gone down since Brexit ""
That's been the case for a few years now so it's hardly a curent news story just a page filler to excite the remain side of the population .

Not sure why? Maybe its because they want to be recognised as ONE NATION, not a union of 28. The same reason why they want ONE currency, ONE army and ONE economy. Surely, these are clear markers for a new dictatorial nation. Read your history books. Britain was once great at doing this.

You mean, like a New World Order? One nation, army, economy.
Agreed
Now we don't have enough navy vessels to patrol with our tankers and escort rubber dinghys in the channel. Obviously we have been signed and sealed to join the great E.U task force so that we could run our resources down.
So today you find out which unelected prime minister you get to replace your current unelected prime minister huh?
The slimy bastard that tried to destroy your health service or the fat pompous thick as pigshit inbred racist cùnt that would throw his mother under a bus in the blink of an eye.
Brexnot and the EU are not your biggest problem kiddies.

That's the EU's fault? Not the fault of chronic underinvestment in your navy by consecutive UK governments.....?
