My "source " saying it's going to be Vieira.

Let's see.

Allegri has clearly looked at us and thought, 'No fucking chance, they have a poor squad that needs at least 10-12 quality (and i'm not talking Wenger quallittee) additions, the board are cuunts, the owner is a twat, no champions league, there are 5-6 competitive teams who are trying to win the league, and I will need £250-300 million over the next 2 transfer windows and they are offering £50 million.,...err, yeah. i think i'll stay put in sunny Turin, where i'm appreciated, well paid, well backed, and have a fairly easy job with no pressure or challenge from many other teams, and a pretty much guaranteed league and cup double with a solid run in the CL every year'.
And who can blame him. I mean, if we weren't Arsenal fans, would we jump from that blissful situation into the shit pile that Wenger and Kroenke have created over the last 10-12 years? :rubchin:

Arteta now clear favourite - I think he will get it because we are not capable of getting anyone else...

Blimey the names being mentioned here...Simeone, Enriqe, Allegri.....in my opinion it won't happen

Ok know the salary is around £9 million a year least thats what Wenger was on, these fuckers are already rich

But seriously what established top manager will want this job.... would be a career breaker

They are a fucking laughing stock....squad is shambles...what is the budget?

Realistically will be Viera or Arteta or someone of that calibre....untried at top level basically
Allegri ruled himself out saying at Juventus......Enrique been discounted also as too expensive....

What established top manager will want this job.... would be a career breaker....once you are on the merry go round why jump off ?

Allegro called for a £200m war chest and they said "fuck that" we can get Arteta for a quarter of the price and we can continue with the successful crèche that Wenger has built...
Now to cancel that Standing order till June!.... :cussing:

I'm tired of all the shit that surrounds the modern day AFC, and I feel that being a Gooner is draining the life out of me a little more each day as the club continues down the mickey mouse club road   What should (and briefly was) a time of great euphoria after the sacking of the french cock, has quickly been turned to despair and depression with the apparent impending appointment of a total novice manager. I like arteta as a player and would have loved if we signed him a few years earlier than we did, but the reality is that he joined us on the decline and comes nowhere near the legend status, which makes it even harder to understand why the club would appoint a guy with zero experience as a manager :? It never makes sense for a guy to manage players that he used to play alongside, and that should be another reason why this should not happen.

Again I have to say that with each passing day I feel that our club as we used to know it is now dead - WE allowed it to happen by allowing a senile arrogant has been remain in charge for far too long, and in doing so we have allowed our expectations and targets to be greatly downsized to the appoint that appointing a guy like arteta is just another example of how the club see themselves going forward

Its becoming apparent we are not moving hard for a top line manager. And it really does seem Arteta could win the lottery and get a job he is not worthy of. Im absolutely aghast at the idea of him being manager. When Wenger said he was leaving, it was finally a chance for a new & clean break. However Arteta as manager is some sort of cruel joke. He was an under performing player and the shittest captain we ever had. He was part of the mad dash following the 8-2 thrashing & was a piss poor Cesc replacement. The media refer to him as an Arsenal great which is so bizarre considering he was an Arsenal disaster. In what world does this Arsenal board think the fans would accept Arteta? He was one of Wenger's merry men, morons who think sideways and backwards passing is possession football. He lacked work ethic and as a push over in midfield. He was weak and was dis-possesed twice in one half in that lead to 2 of Chelsea's 6 goals in Wengers 1000th game. He is the type of player that was indicative of our decling state

Im absolutely stunned that following a popular decision to remove a very unpopular manager, this board would appoint someone who has no pedigree, no respect & no worthiness. Arteta never played for Spain, and the biggest club he played for was us, and even still he was a panic buy.

If the club want to go down this route, then give it to fuking paddy, because he actually was a great captain and midfielder, has pedigree, respect and worthiness. The fans will love him and get behind him more than we could Arteta. Please just give it to Paddy, because Arteta will be a permanent disaster from start to end = Gary Neville at Valancia
Jesus that is some of the worst most ill informed revisionist horseshit I've ever read on here - and that's saying something.  Arteta was our most consistent player for the first two seasons we had him until his legs went. Not his fault Wenger played him long after he had peaked, that's what Wenger does.

I still would never want him as manager but that has nothing to do with his playing career.

Are you kidding me? We wouldnt have even bought him if United didn't thrash us 8-2. He was a typical Wenger player, soft & sold on the idea that possession football is the foremost way forward.

He never played for Spain. Not even one cap. I know Spain had strength in their midfield, but do not get one cap in his entire career - the Spanish can distinguish between the wannabee tika taka from the real thing. Arteta was a tika tika enthusiast, but not a specialist.

When he was named captain, I was aghast, and know here we are, the prospect of giving the mangers job to a complete novice. We need to be more hostile to people like Arteta. I wont even give him a chance if he is named manager, form day one ill already be ''Arteta out''

worst case scenario

Arteta is appointed - is out of his depth and the AKBs clamour for Wenger to return to act as an "advisor" behind the scenes. 8)
