Another "token gesture" just like it was with PV4 so they can say that they put in an intensive search and interview everyone for the job
Tbh I dont want henry to get the job cos he too has no managerial experience, but at the same time I would pick him for manager ahead of arteta every day of the week and twice on a sunday - for starters I DONT THINK he would be as fixated on this beautiful football bullshit and would be more pragmatic, but also he would be a far greater attraction for potential signings than a second rate nobody (and I'm not being unfair on arteta there). It would also be a bonus that he hasn't played with these players previously, unlike arteta who was a part of that squad until 2 years ago

Re: Your Choice As Manager
Arsenal's online bloggers pedalling the club's propaganda, hardly surprising when some reports claim they are given free tickets by the club!
So now we are the 3rd club in London & falling fast whoppee!
Still pleading poverty & moaning about financial doping when we have 2 billionaires owning the club & charge the highest admission prices in world football!

Re: Arteta
I want Allegri, but if the board had any smarts they would do everything they possibly could to get Löw. They have so much invested in Ozil, and Löw is the one that always gets his best game out of him. Plus Germany always has a fresh batch of good new prospects that he could attract.
Edit: Oh and fuck Arteta. Disliked him as a player, and would hate him as the manager (though I would give him a chance, but not a fat one)

Re: Your Choice As Manager
This is a massive risk.
Pep and Zidane inherited great squads and were coaching their respective B teams. Assistant manager/coaches don't always fare so well, and Arteta has been coaching for what a few years??
Don't understand the need to be so bold, when the club needs new players, and without CL, and needs to increase the quality of the squad. I'm not panicking about it, and i'll give him a chance. But his job is huge. I think we're going to find real hard to bring in the players we need.

Re: Your Choice As Manager
The thing is Shitty's defending a few times last season was woeful but they were scoring for fun so by yhe time they started to be exposed in some matches they were so far out of sight teams gave up, I'm not sure we can replicate the scoring thing with our players and I'm fairly sure Arteta will want to play the way city did, we could be in for fun next season if he is appointed
Re: Arteta
Giving it more thought appointing Arteta would be a logical one for this board to make. He has a greater association with the Arsenal the current board know. They mostly never knew life at Highbury and the success we had there, which is of course, all in the past, it's history. He was the first club captain to lift a trophy with the club at their new home in 2014. Like Vieira he chose not to join the coaching staff with Wenger but moved elsewhere. Appointing Vieira would be a risk for the new board because of his link to Highbury and the Invincibles. Wenger and the board got rid of them as quick as they could.
Arteta will be a coach, not a manger as we have in place a chief scout, a director of football and contract negotiator. All aspects of the club wenger had too much control over. I don't think it's a bad thing that the majority of the back room staff have been moved on. Like most decision made by this board I simply don't trust it. But then again, The Arsenal FC I grew up supporting has long gone, and I guess appointing Arteta is everything we've grown to dislike about the club and Kroenke's boardroom.

I believe our board are literally in panic mode because they don't know how to appoint a new manager because they've never done it.
Ivan et al will be, at this present moment in time b
googling the fuck out of their lap tops and tablets searching for "How a top class football club appoints a new manager" and "What type of manager do Arsenal need", obviously interspersed with midget porn

and what does Arteta know about coaching a defence ? maybe the plan is to keep Bould on and give him free reign ?GoonerMuzz wrote: ↑Thu May 17, 2018 4:44 pmThe thing is Shitty's defending a few times last season was woeful but they were scoring for fun so by yhe time they started to be exposed in some matches they were so far out of sight teams gave up, I'm not sure we can replicate the scoring thing with our players and I'm fairly sure Arteta will want to play the way city did, we could be in for fun next season if he is appointed

I don't think this is far off the truth tbh.LeftfootlegendGooner wrote: ↑Thu May 17, 2018 5:11 pmI believe our board are literally in panic mode because they don't know how to appoint a new manager because they've never done it.

I'm trying to remain positive as, well, you know, at least it's not wenger next season...but it's turning into a complete shit show.
I think the club thought they were getting Allegri, told him he's get 50m to spend (well, they'll spend ot for him)....and he told us to fuck off (if he made it that far in his "learn english" book).
So they turn to Arteta...until someone finally realised (checked Twitter) what an unpopular choice that would be.
Now they haven't got a clue what to do...errr...the fans love TH14, right? He's got his own statue and everything, right? Anyone got his number?
Re: Your Choice As Manager
lol it sounds like a joke you just made up but when you think about it it is probably quite close to the truth, why did we approach Vieira a few days ago?, now Henry?, just after the Arteta 'done' was pretty much out there and the backlash was coming in from the fans, sorry customers who realised Allegri, Ancelloti or anyone half experienced was not happening, what I expect now is Henry as a coach under Arteta, if he will accept it, we know Vieira wouldn't because he is ambitious, I'm hoping Henry tells them where to go as well, they are doing it purely for PR reasons.silus wrote: ↑Thu May 17, 2018 5:38 pm

The sooner we get relegated and the fans are baying for Kroenke's blood as he shuffles off his investment to someone who actually has ambition the better, I really am past the point of caring about pride now, we sold that off when we sold out to the wigged c*nt.
Bring on the CHAOS!.

Arsene's car is still outside...quick somebody go find him.....AND we've already paid him.....we'll try this find a manager lark again at the end of next season...
Re: Your Choice As Manager
Not buying that Gazidis and co. didn't have a replacement lined up months ago and some sort of agreement in place. This whole shit show of an ''interview process'' reeks of leaked club PR guff. Even if it is Arteta, the press saying he was being interviewed today about it is bullshit. At the same time, Sky saying Vieira was asked if he was interested. It's all bollocks. No way they didn't have a contingency plan for Wenger leaving.
New manager was agreed months ago, but just to spare further humiliation to Wenger they pretended to search for a new manager after he left.
