Europa League Final Arsenal v Chav$ 29/05 Match Thread
Re: Europa League Final Arsenal v Chav$ 29/05 Match Thread
Are "supporters" of Arsenal really that twisted that they'd rather lose a final to chelski because Spurds MIGHT win the champions league??? Never heard of such treachery. Arsenal to win the Europa league and whatever happens with spurds is nothing to do with us.
We've fucked up our best chances of winning the CL 3 times in the past. Beating Chelski will partly heal up the wound they left in the quarter final of CL 2004, when we should have beaten them and gone on to win it.
The lillywhites are in their best ever moment, it won't last so let them enjoy it. If they win it so be it. Hopefully, it'll get this board off their arses and actually put a plan together to get us back there. Emery is due a CL win and hopefully he can do it with us after winning the Europa League .
As for cech playing in the final, I suspect he'd have some sort of injury in the week leading up to it and Leno will start. Imagine we could have a bench which includes Cech, Ramsey, Welbeck and Lichsteiner all 4 certain to leave. Hopefully, Holding will be fit enough to be on the bench.

I'm not an unbridled optimist by any stretch of the imagination, but I really fancy us to win this.
Exactly the sort of match we have turned up for all season. Hopefully we will get a soft ref and Sokratis will kick Hazard from pillar to post like he did with Kane in both league games!
European trophy would be absolutely fucking lovely.

ideally I would like Arsenal to win the Europa and Liverpool the CL.Nos89 wrote: ↑Sat May 11, 2019 9:12 pmAre "supporters" of Arsenal really that twisted that they'd rather lose a final to chelski because Spurds MIGHT win the champions league??? but IF it was a choice then I would much rather Liverpool win the CL and we lose the Europa.
1. you will never hear the end of it if the scum win the CL
2. if you think that a scum CL win will motivate the current Arsenal ownership into reaching that level then you are very deluded.
3. again you are being very naïve regarding Cech - he played in the semi, he will play in the final.

I hope we can win the Europa final.
Couldn't give a fuck what happens in the CL final as long as Liverpool win.

I think we can win it but I'm not overly confident because of the continuing issues around rubbish players like Mustafalaugh, Xhakatard, Kryten Features and Comedy Fucking Two Arses possibly playing.
Then there's Kos who could turn up and be immense or could do a Brum repeat just as easily. And The Boomerang who could bang a hat trick and be unplayavle or could just as easily miss everything that drops to him. So many inconsistencies and variables that we've seen week in week out all season.
What also worries me is the 10 minutes of Robbie Fucking Savage Runny Run Run that we inflict upon ourselves when Ozil gets subbed off. We could be 1 or 2 nil up and coasting, controlling the pace, and then Dick hooks Ozil and for whatever reason our ability to retain posession and indeed string even 2 passes together just disappears and we go into headless chicken on crack mode.
Having said all that this is no great chav team. If Hazard gets injured or is having an off day then they have nothing. Even with him on top form they are quite beatable.
Heart says we will win 3-0.
Head says we win 2-1.
Gut is not so sure tbh but he does regret that chicken Balti last night.....

assuming that not everyone is going to Baku where is everyone actually watching this game ?
I understand that the Rocket sold out in under an hour!
apparently the o2 Islington Academy (capacity 700) has now also been booked though.
Twelve Pins is first come first served so that will be full by lunchtime I would imagine

"The Azerbaijan FA have slammed Jurgen Klopp over the Liverpool manager's comments about the location of this year's Europa League final."
'Speaking last week, Klopp bemoaned the location of the European showpiece, saying: 'These guys who make the decisions, I don't know what they have for breakfast really when they do it.'
General secretary Elkhan Mammadov of the Azerbaijan FA has now responded, making it clear that he disagreed with Klopp's viewpoint.
'I was unpleasantly surprised by the remarks of Jurgen Klopp,' he said. 'He always gave an impression of a very positive person. Moreover, we all know that he is a great specialist who has achieved really outstanding results in football.
'But with all this, I strongly disagree with his opinion that football should be geographically limited.
'We must respect and promote the values of football. And one of our main values is the expansion of the boundaries of football and its globalisation.
Europe has long gone beyond the borders of the countries of the western part of this continent.
'And I am convinced that holding European Championship matches and European Cup finals in Eastern Europe opens up new opportunities for developing football in these countries, serves to make it more popular among the younger generation, attracts young people to football.

"I agree that getting to Baku by bus from London will be difficult, but [since] when was the distance a barrier for real fans?"

Then supply the facilities for people to come and add to your spectacle.
it would serve them right were no-one from either side attended , it would be the only way to get the message across.

You often make some good points on here Nos but I just cannot agree with this. Do you realise how unbearable that lot, the media, life etc. will be if they win the CL ... I dont think I could ever watch a north London Derby (of any of their games) ever again! Suddenly become deaf and blind would be appealing!Nos89 wrote: ↑Sat May 11, 2019 9:12 pmAre "supporters" of Arsenal really that twisted that they'd rather lose a final to chelski because Spurds MIGHT win the champions league??? For me the situation is quite clear:
Best case scenario) Obviously we win our final, they lose theirs.
Second best scenario) We both lose our finals.
Third best) We both win (but ours will barely get a mention )
Worst case) We lose and they win
Some might be willing to switch those 2nd and 3rd best scenarios but not me. We have lost european finals before and will lose them again. What has NOT happened before and must NEVER happen is the scum winning the CL. NEVER!

KO apparently is at 11pm our time.. If people are there from lunchtime they will be lying on the floor or under the tables come K.O. so there should be plenty of seating

Kick off local time is 11pm, but is 8pm our time

So all this talk from those clowns at UEFA about including Eastern european countries and they stick with a traditional western europe kick off time and make the locals they claim to be so keen to involve go and watch a game that might not finish until 2amaugie wrote: ↑Tue May 14, 2019 12:49 pmxisstential wrote: ↑Tue May 14, 2019 11:56 amGunner Rob wrote: ↑Tue May 14, 2019 9:12 amassuming that not everyone is going to Baku where is everyone actually watching this game ?

This is spot on and anyone who disagrees quite frankly has lost the plot. That or has no contact with scum fans or never attends a NLD.
There is talk again today of UEFA's investigation of citeh and financial irregularities so perhaps still a backdoor entry into the CL should we lose the ropey cup. That would be quite funny.
