I am going via the Thomas Cook sport options through Arsenal. Whilst its pricey, I just couldn't give up on going to see Arsenal in a European final. Taking an indirect route lasting 4/5 days was just not an option for me, even if it would save a few hundred ££s. I still do not know where I am flying from and what time the flight is etc, but im just happy to have confirmation I will be going.

On that note, does anyone that is flying via Sport Options have any confirmed flight details?

I must say the whole thing is an absolute shambles, awarding the final in such a location where they physically cannot handle a major influx of support from Western Europe is a disgrace and needs to be seriously looked at. We all know it will not be looked at, and will just be swept under the carpet as soon as the game is done. It's a real shame that so many loyal supporters from both clubs will not be able to make it, its just bad for the game.
Sport Options confirming departure airports tomorrow I believe. We have been told provisionally it's Luton, which works out ok. Thank god it wasn't Gatwick.

From Thomas Cooks site, it looks like its a sell out as they are only taking registrations online. That probably means they won't put another flight on unless they have the demand.
Thanks for the info, very useful :)

Are you saying you've been provisionally told your flight is from Luton or all flights from Luton (and others likely from elsewhere)?

We only booked our flights on Friday, and was told that we are on a neutral plane that they expected to depart from Luton. I am not sure what the situation is with the Arsenal only plane.

My mate spoke to Miles, so I would like to think the information is reliable and he also indicated that the neutral plane would be mainly gooners, which given how ticket sales have gone from both clubs seems accurate.

I've also read your original post again, sport options have nothing to do with Thomas Cook btw. I am not travelling with the club, but a specialist sports event travel agent.

You are correct, im getting Thomas Cook Sport and Sport Options mixed up. I could still be flying from absolutely anywhere then :)

Thanks again

Why did your Visa application get rejected? It seemed like one of the most straight forward applications I have ever made. The only stumbling block I could see was a connection with Armenia.

Fúck knows, it doesn't even give you a reason or a chance to edit any mistakes, just makes you pay again. :banghead: :banghead: You can't get a visa at the embassy anymore, it's outsourced / bunged to a private company.

Quick search online suggests many others have had similar issues. I used the official link on Arsenal website.

Bollox to all that shite, some things are not meant to be, no point getting upset about it! I :blah:

"IF" This is true then maybe; should we Win, the players could donate a portion of their bonus towards re-imbursing the Fans for their Travel Costs ?

Interesting reading the hoops that people are being forced to jump through to attend this game and good luck to all gooners playing along. If I was still a youngster then I have to admit I would probably have gone to this game and viewed the hoops merely as a challenge. However with the benefit of age and accumulated wisdom over the years, thankfully I have reached a point in life where I am happy to take a different perspective on going and say fuck it 8)

Yeah me too tbh. Been there done that. Followed The Arsenal all over England and Europe since the late 80s. Spent a second house doing it too. Now a lot more selective about what games I would bother my arse going to. This ain't one of them.

But best of luck to the hardy souls making this trip. Hope you all have a safe trip and see a win for the Gunners. 8)

:barscarf: Visa has come through! They must have read the email from Mr Angry from the Gooner Valley! :box:

Flights all sorted, VIP minibus return from Tbilisi, we're on our way!

BTW As Herd predicted earlier in this thread, flights have started going down in price, just got a single back from Tblisi 0430 Sunday morning for £125, that was priced £185 a few days ago! 8)
