ALL Transfer talk - merged thread

There is absolutely no sense selling a 20 league goals a season player to a team who are competing with us in the top 6.

Wouldn't it be great if only....
Not only that but because of the inflated market we might well get our money back....or maybe even MAKE A PROFIT

Maitland-niles, torreira and the dozi wouldn't be a bad midfield imo - again it wouldn't be the finished article by any means, but it would be 3 young players growing together and ready to really step up in the 2020/2021 season

If any of them have an outstanding season there will be a huge bid from another club.augie wrote: ↑Thu Jun 20, 2019 12:33 pmJock Gooner wrote: ↑Thu Jun 20, 2019 12:24 pmMidz wrote: ↑Thu Jun 20, 2019 10:56 amhttps://metro.co.uk/2019/06/19/arsenals ... -10013210/

Personally, I am beginning to think that torreira is already beginning to want out

The three of them would be sound enough and would likely turn into a solid unit however the support that they would initially need from the defence to cover their inexperience wouldn't be forthcoming from the current set up.
The noises in the press certainly appear to suggest that Torreira has found it difficult to settle in London which is a shame as I have no doubt that we will see a marked improvement from him if he stays. Likewise the dozi will benefit from getting his first year under his belt and AMN needs a chance to show what he can do in midfield.
As part of our rebuild I can't help but think we need to add a couple of straightforward, hardworking and capable British players and I would like to see both Tierney and Fraser come in (at least they will understand each other!). We need to see a real improvement in attitude and commitment and both of these two would provide that.
As for Ozil, I am beginning to think that we might as well just let him go for free as that would still represent a saving in wages of £40M over the next two years. We could certainly spend £30M of that upfront and still be better off.

Even if that was the case, at least we'll be getting somewhere in terms of being able to command huge fees for players which will enable us to reinvest with players that actually want to be here (assuming said player doesn't). Right now we have two strikers and right back that would fetch good fees and that's it. And if we have players putting in outstanding performances over a season and generating interest in them it suggests our results might pick up as well which means they might not want to leave anyway.IW8Goalmachine wrote: ↑Thu Jun 20, 2019 1:05 pmIf any of them have an outstanding season there will be a huge bid from another club.augie wrote: ↑Thu Jun 20, 2019 12:33 pmJock Gooner wrote: ↑Thu Jun 20, 2019 12:24 pmMidz wrote: ↑Thu Jun 20, 2019 10:56 amhttps://metro.co.uk/2019/06/19/arsenals ... -10013210/

Not being dismissive of you skooner, but if fans don't want to accept a huge bid for a 30 year old striker, what are the chances that they will accept a huge bid for a young player coming into his peak years ??

I would rather ship the 8/9 dross-loser players we have and play with kids and some more youngsters from elsewhere with potential !
It's not like we are going to challenge for the title or even get in the Champions league right now is it !
Auba realises that a move now could be his last and wants to cash in ,sell him and re-invest ,the more this drags out the more im convinced there isnt a 40 million budget for players anyway !

I'm sure some people won't accept it, and obviously I'd rather we weren't in a position where we need to consider it but even most big clubs need to sell at certain times. When United were at the peak they ended up selling Ronaldo. The club just need to play hardball when it comes to the fee (which can only happen if we manage contract situations properly) and have plans in place in advance of the sale to minimise the loss. People will be more willing to accept things if they can see what the plan is, which we can't right now.augie wrote: ↑Thu Jun 20, 2019 2:24 pmSkooner wrote: ↑Thu Jun 20, 2019 1:54 pmEven if that was the case, at least we'll be getting somewhere in terms of being able to command huge fees for players which will enable us to reinvest with players that actually want to be here (assuming said player doesn't). Saying this on an internet forum might seem a bit hypocritical, but fcuk me social media is a cesspit mostly inhabited by braindead c.unts who stir up trouble by stupid things like this
