Newcastle Away

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Leno

Maitland-Niles Luiz Sokratis Monreal

Guendouzi Xhaka

Pepe Willock Auba

Lacazette

My expected line-up but not my preferred line-up if I'm honest

Either a 2-0 or 3-1 win with the clinchoing goal coming the last 15-20 minutes

Tough one to call. The black cloud that hung around post end of last season collapse seems to have blown over what with the new additions and the mini clear outs. Remains to be seen whether fresh legs, minds and a a few new faces can make us hit the ground running. They have a lot of new players, with their new front two with a lot of pace so expect to see our much critised defence stretched at times. Needless to say the spectre of Andy Carroll terrorising Luiz remains high. Gonna be goals so here's as good place for us to start "winning every game 4-3" :?

We've only won 5 of the last 12 opening day games so would be great to replicate that Everton away (09?) when we ran riot. That and to see see Steve Bruce move uneasily from foot to foot in post match interview whilst Ashley breath is felt on his neck from the directors room. Speaking of whom, this game has gone to general sale. Opening day of the season, new manager, lots of semi decent buys, the return of one of their own, a visit of The Arsenal and they can't sell it out. They hate that prat. But like us with the Kronkes, are stuck with him.

New season.....New hope..... UTA!

We should be all over this lot and I fully expect us to win by two or three goals .

The Arsenal dominate and go 2-0 up by half time, Newcastle get a goal back around 50 mins, the silent crowd suddenly roar into life, we hang on after many near scrapes for a nervy 2-1 win...something like that scenario

Apparently he's Not match fit yet, so we stand a chance. Mind you with Sokratis withdrawn because of the 'Incident'(*) - I'm concerned as to who and what our defence will look like?

Shit team, especially defence.Great opportunity for new Newcastle stiker. We probably concede two so may have to rescue something using bench.

Ok.....big day for Chambers and a test of discipline for the Doozi and Xhaka.

I see the club have announced that KT is 4 - 6 weeks away from full training which is a pisser.

That was kolasinac. Sokratis is Greek.
