Emery on the captaincy -
We have players with the capacity [to be captains]. One is Granit. Last year also he played so much as a captain, and was like a captain in the dressing room.

“We also have Mesut and Nacho, and also other players, they can take this position also. I want from three to five captains in the team.”

Could be a Wenger quote that :banghead:
Meet the new boss,
Same as the old boss!

No no no no nooooooooooooooo!
:banghead:

Who said that!?

If Xhaka wears the Armband for the season,

Then I have to wait for the IPL for REAL Primer League Matches,

Because For Me its going to be the English 'Piss Poor' League as an Arsenal Fan [ With the team following a DEER IN HEADLIGHTS :mrgnu: ]

& I aint going back to watching EVERY TEAM in the Premier League in general,

so its Mubai Indians for the Win, again!

& Pray for Arsenal!

When Emery said he wanted an English player who has come through the academy and lives the Arsenal values, my first thought was Carl Jenkinson.

He needs three captains as he wants one for the Premier League, one for the Europa League and one for the domestic cup competitions.

Our captain will be Tierney by Christmas.

Oh, and Edu or Freddy to be the next Arsenal manager.
(be glad to get quoted on that one) :barscarf:

I didn't first consider Heccy, but it is a solid choice! He seems to be loved in the locker room and young enough to really put his stamp on the captaincy for some time!

McLintock

Adams

Viera

Even in Wengers latter dumbed down captain lite era, Fabregas ,Arteta etc which were basically the best of a very bad bunch .....

Belerin

Spot the odd one out....

No thanks, he would certainly not define what a Captain/leader means to me.

Prefer my Captain to bark orders to team mates, not tweet them.

Must admit I was thrown by Heccy at first Jock ... although not as much as when someone started referring to Lacazette as 'Caz'. Surely Cazorla was Caz?

Not sure where I stand with nicknames. I like the simple ones like Rocky. It fits the name and the way he fought on the pitch. Bellend is equally appropriate for that foppish fool from Spain.

I'm crap at nicknames though. If we had a one-eyed midget with a lisp and no hair called Smith, I'd probably end up calling him Smithy!
