Match Streams

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Copy/paste directly from the charity's website as they can explain far better than I ever could.

What does an autism assistance dog do?

Autism assistance dogs provide a calming focus for a child with autism when they are out and about. An autism assistance dog works with a team leader – usually a parent, and wears a harness that is discreetly attached to a child. The assistance dog helps to regulate walking speed and is trained to respond to bolting or other unsafe behaviours that are common in many children with autism.

A dog is also trained to give calming effects of deep pressure through a head or full-body rest, and parents are taught how a dog can be part of a strategy to interrupt repetitive behaviours.

My 9 yo daughter is on the Spectrum and fortunately we've never had the need for an assistance dog but I have met parents of other Autistic children that have and they all say what help and comfort a properly trained dog has been to their child.

I change my chosen charities quite regularly and at the moment Dogs for Autism is in the chair.

Thanks for the donation Herd, very much appreciated mate.

Yeah the link was only posted on here, nowhere else but no way of knowing who. Maybe I'll just stick to sending the English commentary links to those that donate like yourself.
That's a real pity. Some people are just complete cùnts. Unfortunately no way round that other than pming the links to trusted donators which is a lot of extra work for you.
Ha ha! I've worked out the art of the mass PM. 8)
You da man. 8) Be careful or we might make you a mod. :D

What height are you out of interest....?
Sorry but at 5' 11" I think I'm too tall.
5'6" huh? :rubchin: Ok you are within the acceptable range. We go from Spuddy at 5' 2" to me at a towering 5' 8".

You're not bald are you? No bald bastards. It's why poor old augiemeyang was never made a mod.

:D

Another X in the failure column for me then. I may not be in Augie's league of shiny "pateness" but I'm not too far behind.
