Probably needed to fill Medical Room timetable since Ox,Walcott,Gibbs etc left. Guy has been limping off in matches for past 3 years, an awful idea if true.

Can I say no to both please ?
You can but who do you suggest that is available?

IF Hertha are willing to pay £20m+ for xhaka NOW, then take that deal first.

Contact juve and see which of their centre backs (rugani or the Turkish guy) they are letting go this month, cos they will be either selling or loaning one of them for sure. in my opinion.

In an ideal world they send one of them to us on loan for remainder of the season.

I would then go back to them and enquire about rabiot - rumours has him available for around £25m (seems a bit low to me if I'm honest), so I would use the xhaka money, plus whatever raul finds under the couch cushions, and I would go back and try to sign him. No doubt he is on a significant weekly wedge so IF we agreed a fee, we would then send out arteta for a one to one chat with the player to convince him to join us - in his last two clubs he seems to have prioritised money and it hasn't worked out for him, so arteta needs to sell the club and his plan to rabiot and make him feel like the key part of his plans.

Back-Up Plans

Approach Leipzig and offer them mustafi and cash for upamecano

Sell xhaka AND kolasniac to fund a deal for dunk or upamecano (would like ake buy waaaaay out of our price range methinks)
Dunk and Ake would be excellent choices. Ake will leave in the summer for sure if Bournemouth get relegated but I heard that chelski have to be informed of any bid made for him so they can match it if they want him back.
Only concern with Rabiot is that he cannot get ahead of Ramsey at Juventus. At £25m could be a bargain and given he was signed by juve for nothing thats £25m up on the deal.

There must be a reason why Boatang has been dumped by the last two Bayern Munich managers, especially in this season when they've been poor domestically.
There seems to be a fascination at the club to get in as many players that played in the infamous 7-1 semi-final of the 2014 World cup in our squad. 5 players from that game have played for the club, four of whom are still here, including the captain and main defender from the team that conceded 7. Can we move on and at least look at players going to the 2022 world cup?

According to the Mail, #Arsenal have joined the race to sign Norwich defender Max Aarons but Tottenham remain favourites to land the teenager. Sportsmail understands that a fee in the region of £30m would be enough to get a deal done this month. https://t.co/wj6u63i4UO

#Arsenal are concerned that Hector Bellerin is not the same player after returning from a serious knee injury & Aarons has been identified as having the pace & stamina required to feature for new boss Mikel Arteta. https://t.co/bvYIcbsq41

Boateng is well passed his best and on far too much wages (that's why they're willing to let him go if we paid them). We'd be much better off stumping up the cash for a quality defender.

Oh wait.. the 'horrible, odious, useless c.unt' won't put his hand in his pocket so we have to opt for a cheaper deal, FFS!!

Ahhh, there's the good old Arsenal way under Uncle Stan. Invest €50m in a young defender for the future, or sign a cheaper option deemed not good enough for Bayern and already proven not to be up to the pace and physicality of the Premier League

What happened to the 'catalyst for change' and the wonderful commercial deals that were going to see us compete for any major player in the market. These days we can't Upamecano and Arons let alone Messi and Ronaldo, or the list of 'nearly' Wenger signings.

Save your money on Boateng - he's every bit as shit as Mustafi

Could it be that Leicester do not rate johnny evans as highly as some on here do ??

On a serious level though, seeing as he is one of our rumoured targets, the increase in him by other clubs, and the subsequent rise in the transfer fee required, is not good news for us at all - we are operating on a thin budget as it is, and are gonna be depending on cheapish permanent signings or (more likely) loan signings to strengthen up, and these moves could rule us out of this deal
