So far we have seen a price tag of £40m for ake and now £50m for dunk - surely selling xhaka and using the money to go towards buying one of those is a no brainer ??

The young Turkish centre back (demiral) has started again tonight for juve and scored after 3 minutes. Considering that the massively expensive de ligt is also on the bench, you would have to think that rugani would be available at least on loan :rubchin:

You would think right!

Clearly Arteta has the Brains for the job! he proved his silk with 90 quality minutes against STILL Manchester United!

His Bosses though....Raul , forget Raul & Vinai, RAUL is the one in charge, the one who used his slightly higher post to push Sven Mislinat out, the TOP Scout,So that he could bring in Edu to sit on the Bench below him in a Full Spanish Inquisition.
&
The one that used his influence to get Pretty Signings for us to 'BE EXCITED' about said Junior Kronke...

When we should have sured up the Defense as ManU did with 153mil for a whole new backline, as WE were the side

Conceding 50+ goals two seasons B2B.

Any Owner that gives a damn would Fire Raul AGAIN for screwing up in the transfer window, buying 1 FOWARD , when we needed 2 Defenders____________________________resulting in a team that was maintaining 5th & better throughout the SEASON over decades
to Now labouring in mid table mediocrity for the 1st time in decades ]

Just as Barca Fired him for for screwing up in the transfer window, & missing out on a whole Season of Prime Suarez, who instead of lifting the

UCL with Barca that yr, nearly lifted Liverpool to the title with his Bare Teeth!

Arty's SMART....I pray he finds a way to be successful & win the UEL.....the window is still open.

Remember the days when transfer windows were a thing of beauty? Admittedly you'd need to be of a certain vintage to remember how it felt when you'd heard Bergkamp had signed, or we'd nicked the Scummers captain off them, or seeing exciting talent like Anelka joining

You might remember however, when the appointed puppeteer of Wiggy, announced only a handful of years ago though how we were lining up all these fantastic new commercial deals and were free from the shackles of the stadium financing, as his bloated team of marketeers joined the club. I think the boast was that there was only a tiny handful of players we wouldn't be able to sign.......catalyst for change....blah blah blah

Roll the clock forward to 2020 and we're living the dream of persuading the Swiss dollop to stay, grovelling to St Etienne about whether we can recall a teenager from being loaned back to them, hoping for the odd loan signing if we're lucky or some cast aside shit like Jerome Boateng that City and Bayern have long since tossed on the scrap heap

Cheers Stan - here's to you :blah: :blah: :blah:

I don't even read the papers or watch Sky's transfer window updates anymore - just one long fucking bore. You've more hope going into the window as a West Ham or Everton fan these days

According to Marca, if PSG continue to refuse to sell Edinson Cavani this month, Atletico's plan B is to offer #Arsenal Thomas Lemar in a straight swap for Alexandre Lacazette. #Arsenal https://t.co/RHPaEvErce

ESR going on loan is baffling for me, Willock is in more need of a loan spell as he is truly woeful when he plays, but even more so when you consider as bad as Ozil is if he suffered an injury Willock would be the only replacement left in the system Arteta wants to play :rubchin:

I also agree with SteveO we have a shit RW playing at RB and a shit CB, Sokratis, as the back up now Chambers is injured. Unless Bellerin has had a hair transplant during his injury I cant see him improving even when he is back to full fitness, his time under Wenger broke what was potentially a great player........AKB huh :banghead:

To be honest we have huge deficiencies all over the park, not just in defense, Xhaka, Dozer, Willock, Ozil, Pepe, Reiss-Nelson, Laca and even PEA are hardly setting the league alight in fact if I'm honest the only players I'd definitely keep right now are Leno, Torriera, Saka and Martinelli :banghead:
When you sum it up like that it's not hard to see why we're closer to the drop zone than the CL places (in terms of points). Once Aubameyang walked today, I looked at the entire team and thought "right....who is going to take this game by the scruff of the neck" and I was pinning myself on an 18 year old coming off the bench. When he did come off he put Pepe, Ozil and Lacazette to shame. The one plus point with Auba's red is that we should get to see more of Martinelli and I hope he uses the opportunity to push Lacazette out of the side once Auba returns. I'd stick Martinelli out wide and Auba down the middle

I also go back to the much fabled youth system we have here. I hear so much about it, but are we really saying that we don't have a centre half or RB worthy of the name anywhere within our academy capable of challenging has beens, never will be's and players being played out of position consistently?
When I try to think of defensive players coming out the academy and going on to first team success in the last two decades am I going mad that I can only think of Cashley? That is utterly damning, please tell me I'm having a brain Fart..!?!....

This is yet another problem with modern football, everyone wants to produce attacking players these days as they are the cash cows, until recently a good CB was likely to earn you 1/3 the revenue of other players and yet they are arguably the most important to get right as we have seen to our cost for over a decade yet our academy cant seem to produce a single defender

Agreed. I also can't remember the last decent central striker we produced. Given Wenger's total input its no surprise to me that only little, technical midfielders come through the academy.

RUMORS....

Arteta interested in a Defender 1st then hopefully a DM...Rumors, but I'm glad to hear it, hope Edu does his best to get Yan Couto & this guy

HEADLINE:Arsenal interested in signing Bruno Guimaraes, confirms club president

Expect late movements & hopefully we don't miss out on signings because of it & financial constraints from Kronke.

Pretty much all the papers are saying Tets is going for Stones from Man City. FFS, just what we need, another error prone over-rated defender! Why can’t we just go for a decent defender!!!????

Read the same this morning. If you asked me to pick one Man City defender I WOULDN'T want to sign it would be this gormless piece of shit. His PE teacher must have told him once that he was a 'ball playing' defender and he makes David Luiz look like a model of consistency. I'll offer my congratulations to Arteta if he signs this clown because he's one of the few PL centre backs we could sign that would actually weaken the back line

According to @David_Ornstein, #Arsenal are looking for 1-2 loan signings but are not close to completing any deals at the moment.
