Which is what is meant by the term 'clear and obvious' mistake not the bullshit that Riley and Co are pulling.StuartL wrote: ↑Tue Jan 14, 2020 9:29 pmThe Aubameyang goal away at Old Trafford was flagged offside by the Lino but was about 2 yards on when the ball was played.Bradywasking wrote: ↑Tue Jan 14, 2020 5:00 pmSi far this season Arsenal have had the legitimate goal disallowed at home to Palace, the first goal in the away fuck up at Watford ( Arsenal messed up the goal kick but Cleverley was in the box when the goalkick was taken and the goal shouldn't have been allowed) , the definate penalty for the pull on Sokratis away to Sheffield United and now looking at that picture the away goal at Palace all incorrectly adjudicated on by referees or VAR...Can't think of one that went our way.

Re: VAR
I thought there was a very unsubtle use of VAR in the first minutes of our game at Palace. Aubameyang clearly played the ball out for a goal kick but the referee gave a corner. Once the corner was actually kicked the referee blew for a free out. There didn't seem to be any obvious foul so had the referee got word in his ear that he shouldn't have awarded the corner and he was making sure Arsenal didn't profit off it ?

Re: VAR
I've long suspected that the ref has had people telling him stuff in his ear after they've seen it on a monitor going back to Zidane's headbutt in the world cup final and before. The 4th official has been near a monitor in the Premier League for years and he can easily get a message to the ref or to the linesman to pass on to the ref through the earpiece when something has happened. It's not hard to believe that this has happened and now with VAR and the little goblins sitting in their office, anything can be passed on whether it is allowed or not. All radio correspondence between the refs and VAR should be broadcast to the public so we know what is being said and whether decisions are being made by TV when they shouldn't be. There is no accountability and everything as usual with the Premier League is being hidden behind a curtain of suspicion.Bradywasking wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2020 10:40 amI thought there was a very unsubtle use of VAR in the first minutes of our game at Palace. Funnily enough the goal LiVARpool scored at the scum was allowed though - even though replays showed the throw-in they scored from should have been a throw to Spurs!Bradywasking wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2020 10:40 amI thought there was a very unsubtle use of VAR in the first minutes of our game at Palace. Re: VAR
If there was someone telling the referee that he had awarded a corner or throw in etc in error then that wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing..As long as it was consistent and didn't need three minutes forensic analysisClash wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2020 11:21 amFunnily enough the goal LiVARpool scored at the scum was allowed though - even though replays showed the throw-in they scored from should have been a throw to Spurs!Bradywasking wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2020 10:40 amI thought there was a very unsubtle use of VAR in the first minutes of our game at Palace. Yes there is too much inconsistency and they also tie themselves up with nonsense like this different phase thing - where they will say VAR cannot interfere.Bradywasking wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2020 11:36 amIf there was someone telling the referee that he had awarded a corner or throw in etc in error then that wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing..As long as it was consistent and didn't need three minutes forensic analysisClash wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2020 11:21 amFunnily enough the goal LiVARpool scored at the scum was allowed though - even though replays showed the throw-in they scored from should have been a throw to Spurs!Bradywasking wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2020 10:40 amI thought there was a very unsubtle use of VAR in the first minutes of our game at Palace. I think it was you that mentioned the corner Liverpool got against Everton recently. Pickford made a good save but replays showed the Liverpool player who took the shot was offside ... meaning if it had been a goal it would have been ruled out ... but the corner was still given. And if they'd scored from the corner ... VAR cannot get involved

Re: VAR
Stop ffs mate. That was never a red. The game is dying on its arse as it is and will become unwatchable if they take the contact out of what is, let's remember, a contact sport.northbank123 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2020 9:05 pmWhat were we expecting to achieve?
They are reticent to overturn decisions when they’re blatantly wrong, never mind when they’re right!
With a contact sport you get accidents. That's all it was. Not even vaguely comparable to leg breakers that deserve reds like Shawcunt on Ramsey, Taylor on Eduardo, or Robertson's attempted leg breaker.
It's a man's game you Welsh poof.
