Forming a breakway club?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Whispa it quietly but I think we should (Dairy) Milk it for all it's worth. This Topic is good for a Hob Nob and is the real Boost that this place needs.

just because you go and watch a lower league team, wouldn't mean you stop supporting The Arsenal.

it would just mean not spending money on them...
make me want to go regularly... :|

I give this new team just a season before the Wagon Wheels fall off.
i'm not sure, i'm caught Twix a rock and a hard place on this one...

i'll take Time Out and i'll think about it in a Digestive manner over a Nice Finger or two of Bourbon.
I think that is a good idea. A new club might go for Giles Garibaldi, oops sorry, Grimandi, as chief scout or manager. It would not be Rich, Tea cups would fly in the dressing room if we were losing.
Would we play in the same Kit? Cat "A" games would not really exist would they?
The profit margin would be Wafer thin, the revenue less than United, and the crowd would hardly Hob Nob with the great and good, but the atmosphere would be Nice and if some Israeli fans would visit from Jaffa, cakes could be served to entertain them.

Quartz wins for getting "jaffa cakes" in a sentence.

They have actually ended up with a decent stadium up near Edgware after their bust up with the w**kers at Enfield council

Not given the club any money since Kroenke took over :barscarf: Just aways & Europe for me :D

Wenger won't spend the serious cash needed to win CL & / or Leagues, just more profit for the yank & his cronies, don't give the criminals any of your cash!!!

I don't feel I've betrayed The Arsenal, they have betrayed their traditional supporters over the last decade, I still support the team but won't give the club my cash.

A breakaway club would have my support :barscarf:

Thanks, if this club gets formed it will not have a Galaxy of stars in the squad but the player could take to the pitch with theme music by Half Man Half Biscuit and they could play a song by the Cookie Crew when there is a goal.

@Topgoon

Barnet fell out with Barnet Council, not Enfield Council.

:barscarf: Looks like some are going to try & start a Breakaway club? :rubchin: EDIT so I thought any discussion should go into a relevant thread. :blah:

Not sure about this, IMO it should be AFC Arsenal or similar & based somewhere nearer to North London. Certainly not between Chertsey & Addelstone, out past SW London / M25 FFS! :blah:

Advert for a new manager on their website!

https://www.dialsquarefc.com/news/1st-t ... 02555.html

Seems the same Stuart Morgan had started a previous club at the same stadium a while back, with a cannon on their badge! https://wikishire.co.uk/wiki/Addlestone_United_F.C.

Looks like this fella's been exposed on Reddit, no mention in the media of all this though? :banghead:

Playing in Surrey with a view to eventually moving to Woolwich is an insult to the local community that has supported Arsenal for over 100 years. That's the first red flag that this idea hasn't come out of Arsenal's core support. To be honest, this sounds more like a vanity project for Stuart Morgan, who has been trying to run his own non-league club for years, rather than a bona fide grassroots fan-led movement.

Indeed, a simple search on Companies House reveals that Dial Square Football Club Ltd has one director (Stuart Morgan) and two shareholders (Stuart Morgan and Edgar Hill). Exactly why anyone should invest emotionally and financially in a non-league club under those gentlemen's exclusive control is a mystery to me.

It would be one thing if this were a fan-led initiative, it's another thing entirely if it's some opportunistic businessman (who sits in club level at The Emirates then complains about the atmosphere) looking to capitalise on some fan discontent.

Sounds like a load of bollox then? :cussing:

"It’s so commercialised, I sit in club level. It’s soulless, it’s lifeless, it’s not Arsenal Football Club.

Good luck to them it wont be easy to create an Arsenal spin off in the heart of Chav land

Dial square fc and playing in the burgundy kit seems like a nice idea but I read somewhere that the maroon/burgundy was never used and it has always been Red ,bad black and white photo apparently so Mr Morgan needs to check that out

If in a few years time and they end up playing in Woolwich or nearer home with the proper cannon on the chest then it would be worth a visit

No they ain't.

Never let facts get in the way of getting another dig in against the club.

This thread is a load of bollocks.
Tbh I've never gotten over losing the iconic crest with proper cannon and gothic font and motto and probably never will. The fact they replaced it with some marketing arsehole's simplified cartoon just makes it worse for me.

BUT;

It's still Arsenal. And I support Arsenal. Not Arsenal-Lite or Kind-of-Arsenal or some breakaway club by a few disgruntled fans. Fuck that. My associaton is as much about our history and our tradition as it is about the team or club that I watch now, it's the whole, not just elements of it.
