Citeh (A) postponed due to The End Of Days.

The season just can't finish now. The first talk was of playing games behind closed doors, but as has already been said on here we already know that the Olympiacos/Forest owner has it and whilst I understand all the Forest players have been tested and reported negative, it is a matter of time before players test positive - be it this week, next week or whenever. We're sending Wolves to Greece, Man U to Austria, and Madrid (the worst affected area in Spain) playing at Anfield tonight. Football isn't immune - it is going to happen. At that point, abandoning sports events is the order of the day rather than playing behind closed doors

We're still trying to contain the thing and delay its spread to the warmer months so any notion of finishing the season late or the Euros happening is bullshit talk - it simply won't happen. I very much doubt the start of next season can happen either.

They can't hand out trophies, decide European spots, relegation and promotion on part of a season especially when teams haven't all even played the same number of games - its over, abandoned. The lost season of 2019/20

How football along with hundreds of other industries will ever cope and recover is another question all together. Whilst all the focus is on the PL, who is thinking about clubs in the other divisions with much lower commercial revenues, few season ticket holders and who need regular paying customers to meet their liabilities?

The best we could hope for is some sort of shortened season next year starting much later in the year and where everyone plays each other only once, but how the logistics of deciding who plays who at home gets decided, god only knows.

As usual everyone will cry for the Mickeys, but how about the likes of Sheffield United and Brentford who are having the type of seasons that they might never see the likes of again. How about the teams at the top of the Championship who will miss the £100m+ they were probably looking forward to, whilst Norwich, Watford and Villa get a free hit to start all over again? Really can't see any way out of the mess

It was pointless playing the PSG game behind closed doors because you could thousands of singing supporters outside the stadium.

Time to cancel the whole thing now. The game’s up.

Playing to behind close doors will just make a farce of it now.

What’s the point of the home and away legs for the remainder of the competition?

Going away to Atletico and trying to get a result is massively difficult because the crowd are all over you there. But going away to play them in an empty stadium is a completely different scenario.

Glorified friendlies from here on in.

The PL league will not abandon the league until they are made to and neither will the clubs, the loss of revenue would be monumental. The TV companies would not be obliged to finish the balance of payments etc etc and that would cause serious financial difficulties to some clubs in all leagues Inc the EPL.

The country should have been shut down to all but essential international travel weeks ago but as per usual money outweighs common sense, we reap what we sow and globalisation and over population has led us into a bad place. Even if the summer months kill off this outbreak it's out there now and there is nothing to say it wont return next year :rubchin:

Vaccinations may be developed for this strain but if it mutates then it's back to square one :banghead:

Happy days :barscarf: :barscarf:

There wont be a vaccination approved this year for use by the wider population. Personally, I don't think I will be going to another game this season.

BTW the Spanish flu killed 15 million in 1918, that was long before the era of travel and integration of the worlds communities/businesses. Viruses aren't political they evolve, mutate and will always be a threat to the human race no matter how strong our healthcare systems are. Globalisation and over populating have nothing to do with corona virus or any other epidemic thats happened in the last 500 years.

Was the outbreak of this virus as a result of someone eating or fucking a bat?
Both. Catch em. Romance em. Fuck em. Cook em. Eat em. They base it on the Jeffrey Dahmer model.

my solution on how to play out the end of the season is this:

postpone everything and then when we are ready to go again, just continue where we left off, whenever that might be.

then consider what to do, time wise regarding the next season.

one thing should happen - cancel Euro 2020 and in fact all international football for the rest of the year.

Football to continue as normal according to the Government but Swamp dwellers due to their excessive spittle are considered too much of a risk and are being made to self isolate for 12 months.
