Re: CoronaVirus Latest
Pretty much. Trying to stick to science and containment here, but politicians make it hard not to comment. Also have no time for non compliers here, finding it very hard to bite my tongue with some of the stuff written.
Re: CoronaVirus Latest
Wow! Sid, I know you don’t give a shit about the virus but that is just reactionary, right-wing. nonsense. If he’s anti-establishment, and by establishment you mean the current incompetent, lying, self-serving criminals we have in Government at the moment, that’s fine with me. More people need to stand up to them and call-out the corruption and lies we are being fed every day. Hopefully, the fools who fell for the Tory spin at the last election, will now see them for what they really are and the tide will turn towards a more caring, responsible Government.goonersid wrote: ↑Wed Oct 21, 2020 6:39 amGoonertux , he’s a left wing scouse anti-establishment anarchist.
Who will take any opposing view to govt,
he resisted level 3 restrictions, demanding more cash to help support the area, yet he supports a full national lockdown, which would inflict hardship on areas which have low infection rates and no need to lockdown.
He is just a mouthy northern c u n t!
Re: CoronaVirus Latest
Not sure about not giving a shit, but I do think it’s being tackled in the wrong way, ie we should be targetting restrictions, protection etc solely on the vulnerable.goonertux wrote: ↑Wed Oct 21, 2020 8:24 amWow! It would then be down to them to make their own decisions.
90% are probably 80+ and already housebound or in care homes, so isolating them should be a priority.
Those of us who are fit and able should be allowed to work and socialise as normal.
We shouldn’t be restricted over what would do us less harm than seasonal flu.
Yes there will be exceptions to the rule and some “fit” people would die.

Way too simplistic an analogy. You are ring-fencing groups when the reality is there are at-risk people of all ages.goonersid wrote: ↑Wed Oct 21, 2020 8:37 amNot sure about not giving a shit, but I do think it’s being tackled in the wrong way, ie we should be targetting restrictions, protection etc solely on the vulnerable.goonertux wrote: ↑Wed Oct 21, 2020 8:24 amWow! Like Jock, if you were in charge there would be hundreds of thousands of casualties. Economies don't function without confidence, which is impossible if a pandemic is out of control.

It's not too simplistic. You are trying to save everybody which never works.....unfortunately there will always be casualties. As I've said before the old dears are out and about getting on with their lives and taking their chances. I love the fact that so many of them are sticking two fingers up to the politicians.
If I was in charge there wouldn't be all the beds blocked in ICUs I can guarantee you that. The graphs yesterday showed that the 85+ age group make up most of the new admissions to hospital. They also take the longest to recover because they are the weakest. There is your decision about Covid right there in a nutshell. Spare me the faux outrage and think long term.
Economies function on cash / credit so a few 85 year olds going a bit before their time will not have any effect on economies.
You might think me extremely callous but I simply look at it as honesty. I take it you saw the surveys a while back which showed that about 70 - 80% of the great British public intended to self isolate if required but then the actual number who did so correctly after a positive test was about 25%. It doesn't matter who is right or wrong on here if that is the reality.

In the first sentence of your reply, you have quoted an inaccuracy. There are millions of working-age people that are in at-risk groups. Even if they get the virus but don't die there will still be long term health consequences for the individual and the economic impact. Sorry, I can't even be bothered to read the rest, busy today now doing some work......Jock Gooner wrote: ↑Wed Oct 21, 2020 9:37 amnut flush gooner wrote: ↑Wed Oct 21, 2020 9:08 amWay too simplistic an analogy. No inaccuracies stated. Maybe truths you are uncomfortable with.
Good to hear that you are cracking on with your work and popping a few pennies into the Chancellor's pot.
Re: CoronaVirus Latest
That would be the Chancellor’s pot that is actually OUR money, that they are happy to spunk away on failed Track and Trace systems (£12 Billion, anyone?) PPE that doesn’t work, and feck knows how many contracts to those that line their pockets. Shameful!
