Unsung Heroes
Unsung Heroes
I know there's probably a thread in the vaults, but you can suck my hairy beanbag if you think I should search for it
Players who aren't acknowledged as much as they should be.
I've been watching a lot of Wenger era cup finals and big game highlights!
The obvious one is, the Romford Pele, but I had never given Wiltord credit for his work rate.
Thoughts?

I quite liked Stefan Schwarz, and thought Alex Manninger summed up Arsenals grit around that time

Re: Unsung Heroes
Schwarz wasn't unsung he was one of our best players at that time and a *word censored* who left us in the lurch.
Manninger didn't play enough to be unsung hero imo. Cult hero yes. Not unsung
Grimster was unsung but became cult I would say.
Nelson vivas perhaps??!! Will get shouted down but was solid enough as was the horse oleg...even Cygan had his moments when we won the league! Maybe nome of these played enough.
Bacary Sagna was perhaps? quietly effective for a number of years. Wyltord and Romford defo were too.

We'd walk a million miles for one of his goals

Re: Unsung Heroes
Paul Davis never got anywhere near the amount of respect and praise he deserved outside of Highbury. In an era when English football was completely devoid of any skill, he shone out like a beacon.

Ooh this is one that has to be up there. The man had silken skills, power, pace, strength. Everything. A truly gifted player.Perryashburtongroves wrote: ↑Tue Nov 15, 2022 7:31 amPaul Davis never got anywhere near the amount of respect and praise he deserved outside of Highbury.
