arsenal green shirt

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

We probably beat Liverpool in a game while wearing that shirt though so it would be an utter disgrace to the Hilsborough victims if we even started to think of doing that.

That pic you put of Stewart Robson Steary doesnt even have the umbro sign!! In the olden days you actually had a choice if you wanted to have the plain or sponsored shirt. I still have 2 of the old green ones at home! Im my memory serves me right the sponsered shirts were £1 dearer!

Might even give it an airing on Saturday.

ok fair enuff evone likes it, but why isnt a fuss kicked up about this kit not being a true arsenal kit when so much was amde about the white kit. dont get me wrong, i fucking hated that white kit but ev one seems to love the green kit.

i suppose it was a diff decade back then when kits werent produced every 2 months to rape the fans, i think im kinda answering my question myself, so ill shut up now!

I have an original Green. No Sponsor on mine as I didn't want it back then. I was only 18 at the time so its a rather tight fit now.

The Toffs effort is hopeless. Nothing like the original (obviously no Umbro sign but the collar is far too open as well). If I shed a couple of stone over the season I may wear it for the next HISTORY DAY.

Maybe because green is not associated with our bitter rivals up the Seven Sisters Road. And as to why the green is now a cult classic, perhaps because it was such a break from the norm as to be thought of as a freak one-off.

Also agree with Step, though I love TOFFS their version of the green is not worth buying. If you can get your hands on an original, it's worth it. The colours are striking. I can still just about get into mine if I detox for a month beforehand.
