'Arsenal deny secret takeover of Belgian feeder club'
Do we think there is any truth in this latest rumour? If so, we could be in big trouble - ban from Champions League included...

No worries...
It's a non-story. BBC finding things for their (overstaffed) news department to do. If Abramovich can own and play CSKA Moskow in the Champions League and get away with it, the conflict of interest argument cannot be relevant here. All Arsenal have done is give an interest free loan and Arsene Wenger owns a share in a company that profits from the transfer of players from Beveren.
But think about it. Reason David Mellor was defending Arsenal on Newsnight is because there's a can of worms awaiting opening if this kind of thing is investigated for real. Chelsea are guilty of far worse than Arsenal who are only trying to fing a way of competing by making it easier to get African players into the club (and most end up elsewhere anyway). Let's face it, Real Madrid's feeder club made the top flight in Spain and no-one batted an eyelid.
This will be forgotten about by the end of the weekend.
