The Patrick Vieira Thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

If he does come to us what number do you think he will take? It's always been PV4. Will look strange seeing him in another number. Maybe Toures number 5 shirt?

I actually don't think i'd be able to contain my excitement if he came back :barscarf:
One for all you "You can stick you're fucking stats right up your arse" fans - Of which I am one.

Pyschological impact of Denilson and Song on oppsotion - I would say close to zero.

Anyone see the video interview with wenger re PV4 ? In it he said that even signing PV4 is a gamble but he knows the club and has the right attitude - is that an indicator or as close as you will ever get from wenger that a few of our players dont have the right attitude ? :o Most of us believe that anyway but am surprised, in a good way mind, that wenger actually suggested this

Certianly sounds like wenger is interested, yesterday in his press conference he said it was a possbility which is unlike wenger, who normally says a big fat NO

Im not to sure about bringing pv4 back, i get the impression it is papering over the cracks and to keep the fans happy. Instead we need like ray parlour says 3 players to challenge for trophies.

read this for awhile but only just signed up so can comment (got told not long left at work so might as well make productive use of time from now on!), and I'm really not sure bout bringing back vieira. Whilst Cesc scoring against juve was seen as a changing of the guard, the biggest thing that sticks in my head was that in the build up vieira was tackled by pires!

now, whilst pires was/is a great player there is no way vieira should be getting tackled so easily by him and this was 3yrs ago. it could've been a one off fluke but what if we end up seeing a once immense player but who now has as much mobility as sylvester? that would break my fragile heart!

I think you're reading FAR too much into that, Augie!

He's not criticising his players... he's saying that signing ANY player is a gamble, but at least he know's Vieira has a fantastic attitude, whereas other potential signings might not

I'm not in anyway a psychologist but if you read into Wenger comments I actually think PV4 returning is a goer.

When I see a 10 page thread I hardly want to go through and read it.
As you can see you must have just read my post after being alerted and I just read yours after being alerted. simples.

BTW the long threads on here tend to be the best ones. 8)
Not if i get involved in them
