PAT RICE
The Norwich game is probably Pats last home game as an Arsenal employee.A good servant to the club for over 40 years.
Happy retirement

Re: PAT RICE
Would like to see him manage a side in a testimonial, surely the club will give him one after all his years of service?mcdowell42 wrote:The Norwich game is probably Pats last home game as an Arsenal employee.A good servant to the club for over 40 years.

likely candiate is Bouldy - but will he be allowed to be vocal or just put the cones out and sign a few autographs like Paddy Rice

Re: PAT RICE
A tremendous servant both on and off the pitch. A real winner.
As a player won the League and FA Cup double in 1970/71 and captained Arsenal to win the 1979 FA Cup. Won 49 international caps for Northern Ireland.
In total, he made 528 appearances for the first team across 14 years, including five FA Cup Finals and one European Fairs Cup Final.
As Arsenal youth team coach he won the F.A. Youth Cup in 1988 and1994. As first team coach he won the League and FA Cup double in 1998 and 2002 and won the league in The Invincibles seasons in 2004. Also won the F.A. Cup in 2003 and 2005.
A testimonial sounds like a great idea.

Re: PAT RICE
A true Arsenal man and a very nice guy.
Good luck to him.
Replacement could be Bould, Lehmann, Adams, Grimandi or another.

Re: PAT RICE
Dont give a flying f**k who gets it cos he will be serving under a dictator who will give him no say whatsoever anyway
Feel sorry that the rep of pat rice has suffered so much in recent seasons just cos he is wenger's number 2......he deserves better

Re: PAT RICE
Where has it been said Pat Rice will stand down at the end of this season? I've not heard anything official from anybody, rumours were strongly circulated like this three years ago and it turned out to be nothing. So is this more rumour or have I been living under a rock?
Re: PAT RICE
Wenger pretty much said last year that he had convinced Rice to stay on for one more year.
Re: PAT RICE
Oh don't remember that!

Re: PAT RICE
As much of a legend as Pat Rice is to Arsenal stepping down as the no.2 is one of the best things that could happen to our club.
Look at Fergie who freshens his backroom team up every other year, we need a change and someone who can challenge Wenger with his decisions.
But i am a realist and realise this won't happen so expect another 10 years of a yes man as number 2
