We have no pull power

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

We have no pull power

Post by spendsum4uckingmoney »

Its pretty sad

Not only do we miss out on targets such as Hazard, even the likes of Mvilla and Giroud are delaying making a decision. Face it we've become a back up option for the big players. Its sad but its obvious why we are here. The stadium was meant to allow us to compete with the big clubs but truth is even the highest wages we can offer isnt enough to keep the top talent. The only thing we can do is offer decent to mediocre talent huge wages like Denilson and Diaby. They are like prostitutes really selling their soul/ambition for some wages. Even that spurs defender target would rather go to spurs. Its damn right miserable.

FFS we are being linked to De Jong- a hack and slash player, Salomon Kalou and god knows what crap.

Please please please show some ambition. We dont need rejects we need quality.

We cannot compete with West Ham.

If you want ambition ***** off and go support Charlton.

We are the Arsenal we are beyond ambition and trophies.

We have a group of players that are the envy of Europe and a manager who would walk into the Real Madrid and Barca jobs. Our club would be finished without Wenger.

Who would you replace him with?

Klopp? Guardiola? Hiddink? Heynckes? What have these managers won in the past 7 years between them then?

Be careful what you wish for. Chelski fans wished AVB out even though he was Top 4 and they ended up with Di Matteo.
What did he achieve? FA Cup (which is not an achievement compared to the 3rd place trophy) and the CL.

Does winning the CL compare to getting knocked out in the last 16 year after year? NO.

Arsene is working wonders on a limited wage bill of just £129 million and only earns £7 mil per season. What the hell do you expect from him - trophies? FFS do you expect him to go to places like QPR, Swansea and Bolton and win? Who wins over there?

Do you expect him to compete with Chelski and their sugar daddy billions? Who else can compete with them in the league? Did you see managers like Redknapp and Pardew finishing ahead of Chelski then? Exactly.

It's all about money. Simple. Ferguson has less than Citeh and Chelski - what has he won over the past few years?
Bayern are the richest team in Germany. Do you see teams like Dortmund competing with them?
PSG are the richest club in Europe along with Anzhi - how can you expect any other team to compete with them for the Ligue 1 title? Do you see any other team competing?

What the hell do you ungrateful saps expect!

Be grateful, we play in a wonderful stadium with delicious hot dogs and some of the best day tripping tourists in the world. We have a manager who is so God like he refuses to accept criticism from mere mortals, we have a Chairman who regularly puts us proles in our place and we have the most generous ticket prices in the league. That is the 'Arsenal way'.

We are not a 'rich man's plaything' like some others. We are TWO rich mens' playthings!

You've never have it so good, you are spoiled. You went to Old Trafford and saw your team involved in a match with 10 goals, you went to Ewood park and saw your team again involved in a game with 7 goals, you watched 4 goals in Milan, you saw 5 goals in Swansea, and you witnessed a breath-taking 6 goals against Norwich. The most entertaining team in the league!!! We play the best football!

So show some respect because REAL FANS keep their mouths shut, pay up their monies and support 3rd and 4th place.

So get behind the team and judge the manager after the 2016 Olympics and once Diaby and Jack and Mertesacker are all back and fit.

Can't blame them.

We are one of the few 'top clubs' you could say with a large degree of certaintity, that any player that joins can expect to win absolutely nothing at all, bar a few Emirates Cup winners medals [ if we have a good team and good draw].

Sad but true. We're viewed in the same light as Roma, Schalke and Valencia. And even they have won stuff in recent years.

Clubs like Juve, Milan, Borussia dont have the earning power we do, but they are far, far more ambitious.

Welcome to the forum 8) I think you need to understand that the football club once known as "The Arsenal" died many years ago. We are now following the super efficient and highly profitable business empire of "The New Arsenal". Sadly TNA couldn't give a flying fuck what opinion you have, if you don't comply with TNA they will simply find another number to replace you. TNA aren't interested in accumulating fans or trophies, they want brand hugging cash rich brain dead Monkeys. Dont get taken in by all this "Match day experience" bullshit either, before you know it you'll be in the armoury buying sweat shop quality Nike shit for half a weeks wage, after which you'll be tucking into a foot long hot dog (11 inches actually) and singing stand up if you hate tottnumb.

A bit harsh Babatunde.

We aspire to make a profit of £20m on transfers each season.

That's ambition fulfilled for you.

Welcome to the Forum "Spend".

In the interests of fair moderating I have to explain that I locked a similar thread from Red Member earlier today, because he/she should know better, but you are brand new so enjoy your rant.

We have a very good transfer thread running to discuss things, feel free to have a look. Plus a Kalou thread, even though we have not signed him!

But personally, I would not get worked up over being "Linked With" players, it has little substance.
