Emirates Cup 2013/Galatasary and Trouble at Overseas Games

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

The thing with inviting Gala to the Emirates (if they do) is not trouble from Arsenal fans, that won't happen. Most of the Turkish fans will be local and the big problem will be Leeds fans and possibly a few other mobs from Oop north who the Leeds boys get to help. I used to follow England for a few years away and believe me, the most lunatic of the England fans were always the guys from Leeds, complete nutters. They will want revenge and it will not mater that most of the Turks are londoners. There will be a fair bit of trouble if they are invited, I am absolutely convinced.

it depends on what you do over their mate - if you meet up with the guys in kits with the flags out at the irish pub in the main square or on the main drag, you're going to attract attention.

on the other hand, if a few of you find a back street cafe, drink some local wine and eat local food and mix with the locals then head out to a late night drinking club or strip club, then you might get a little hassle but you're not gonna get targeted.

i wouldn't travel with a big mob and advertise at night to the locals in Liverpool, Leeds, Cardiff or Portsmouth, so i wouldn't do it abroad.

Marseille with England, and Copenhagen with Arsenal were the only two times i can remember the whole town going up and us being 'hunted' by the locals.

everywhere else, you had to be in the right place at the wrong time.

Having lived oop north in Sheffield for a bit I think the other northern mobs would be more likely to ally with the Gala fans against the dirty Leeds scum!

I'm booking my flights from Belfast for this on Monday. Is this definitely going ahead this year. I know the teams aren't officially confirmed yet but has it been confirmed by Arsenal that the tournament will be taking place on the 3rd and 4th August

Of course mate, I'm not suggesting the 'BBC' would go with the service crew, but smaller firms may do.
Wasn't there a documentary back in the 80's that showed Millwall joining West Ham to take on a northern mob? I think it may have been one of the Manchester clubs? It happens.

those Northern nazi pricks would be crazy to try anything in North London
they'd be torn limb from limb - there aren't enough police to save them

and in the spirit of the Bear fighting NF racist scum
I'd be happy to see Sperz, Galatasaray or anyone else help do it

on a side note - respect for Leeds? er, why?
who cares about Leeds. I have no respect for them
and less for sell-out cockney reds
i think there are a few Arsenal members of the EDF and a lot of those EDF guys are Chelsea/Leeds Loyalists too. The Arsenal have always had a far right element but it was more about the Oirish politics than race, though i'm sure the racists kept it on the downlow cos of the Bear and his gang.
There are quite a few who go Arsenal and the EDL, and more that go to Rangers.

There were two dead in Copenhagen and dozens wrongly accused.

It's an absolute disgrace that Arsenal have invited them. They are literally the last club in world football I would want at that tournament. Vile, avaricious, money grabbing shits run our club.

EDL are largely a bunch of twats but I can assure you that Gala will be targeted by Arsenal fans en masse .
Anyone who thinks differently hasn't a scooby !

its isn't

Islington is a fascist free zone.
yep, all Arsenal fans are islington born and bred.

 :blah:
er, no - obviously not the point I'm making (sensitive much?)
all our home games are played in Islington
the Emirates Cup will be played in Islington
when the NF tried it at Highbury and Sperz they were chased off by Gooners and Spuds together
I expect the same if the EDL turn up for the Gala game
(or Électricité de France which seems slightly less likely  )

The NF and Socialist workers wankers were chased off from Arsenal station by someone who looks like me and a mob from the Arsenal Tavern ,literally they ended up together in Drayton park No sprurs around and beleive me spurs had a large
nazi mob and were separate form the Spurs black firm who we all know and have never fought nor ever will !
Dont confuse anti facism and the opposition of racial hatred for those who have first hand experience of gala and their so called fans ,IE nearly everyone who was in downtown Copenhagen in 2000 !

Seems you're confused Herd
if EDL (or those evil French Vichy energy companies) decide to demonstrate round the corner from my house
I'll decide what my opinion and response will be all on my own

I'll be on Upper St with Islington Gooners, Spuds and Galatasaray fans
No Nazis allowed in Islington, simple
