The way that they have been flagging recently, there may yet be some twists in the title race. Probably not likely to involve us, but if Chelsea keep dropping points, we could make things interesting. Of course, that assumes that we will get anything from the match at the Emirates.
If Chelsea implode, it will be the funniest title implosion in a long long time.

Chelsea looked a bit shell shocked today and only really dominated in the last ten minutes. Meanwhile at Old Trafford..

And next week Hull will take another 2 points off them while we have a comfortable win at Newcastle.

Villa won the league at Highbury, but we made it OUR celebration, we did not give them an inch that day 2-0 win i remember
Atmosphere was incredible, Northbank absolutely rammed, not like nowadays with day trippers, corporates and foreign tourists...
you did not need Red action to get people singing.....

Liverpool were in a pretty good position last year playing much better football, City caught them, Chelsea got us, United and Liverpool to play, all teams that have to win for their own spots.begeegs wrote:The way that they have been flagging recently, there may yet be some twists in the title race. Wouldn't give them the title just yet.

We still are on for the double methinks , its the hope that kills, the first half of the season was utterly dire for us, madness not to do what most Gooners asked for with CBs and DM signings, total madness.
I know we lucked on Coq, but it wasnt the plan thats for sure. Arsene knows

If things go right next week we could see the lofty heights of second place!
Doubt it will happen but you never know. City look fragile at the moment.

Both Citeh and Cheski do Spuddy, Think both Cesc and Costa are knackered physically, several players have played every match this season.

Re: Chelsea to win the league at AG?
we are definitely now in the mix for 2nd place now
BUT equally we have United and Liverpool right behind us so that even the top 4 is not yet secured.
we only have to lose our next 2 games and we are back in 5th

I can see them dropping enough points to throw it away, but whether anyone is good enough to take advantage is doubtful.

Liverpool and United play eachother at the weekend so as long as we beat Newcastle, whatever happens in that game will be good.Gunner Rob wrote:we are definitely now in the mix for 2nd place now

I wasn't there but was that the day when both sets of supporters had a pitch invasion at Highbury?Redarmy wrote:Thats it mate, to a chorus of "sign him up"Peeman wrote:Redarmy wrote:Villa won the league at Highbury, but we made it OUR celebration, we did not give them an inch that day 2-0 win i remember

I think we finished 3rd as a result of beating Villa?
to be fair it seemed a great achievement at the time - if we finish 3rd this year the reaction will be more muted - perhaps differing expectations these days?
