When I was a lad, the idea of running a marathon was extreme enough - but recently, I've sponsored a guy in the office who ran 100 miles ( ) - he knackered his knee after 50 miles and hobbled the rest
I know another guy at work who is training for a 60-odd mile run soon and another who did a 30-odd mile run that invovled challenges along the way such as wading through freezing water and getting electrocuted
Insane.

Thanks for looking after my thread Armchair
Have now posted the following times

10K in 50. 40
16k in 89.42
22K (half marathon) in September so stay tuned
Making progress but it's hard work, have discovered the logic of your tips the hard way but I would also add to drink water the night before a race and not on the actual race day also WIND IS A BASTARD

10miles...................1hr 25min 02sec
Mild, some sun, a little breezy
Average 8.5min/mile
Todays top tip:- Get some earphones that actually stay in your ears. Its a annoying and distracting to have to keep adjusting them.

Cool, overcast, light rain, light wind.
(Pretty much my perfect weather today until the last 15 when the sun popped out)
Average 8.35min/mile
Todays top tip:- Dont run after eating. Couple hours is recommended but not always possible. *boke*

Reminds me of the time Spuddy wanted to know if he could use a strap-on at the same time as a butt plug.
