Re: the Wimbledon Thread
It's sunday afternoon and I'm bored so have flicked onto watch a few minutes of the mens final and I have to ask what the fcuk is going on with bbc's coverage ? In between every single point the camera's are showing some c.unt in the crowd and most of them are "famous" - who gives a flying fcuk about the crowd ? Show them between games but fcuk this bullshit about showing them between every point

He's got a point though.
What happened to concentrating on the players involved? Feckin going around every a b and c list celebrity and non stop focus on the players respective entourages.
concentrate on the players, the match.

Listening to the final on R5 sounds like a great match. Djokovic is a machine, only got 27,000 people against him and he just turns it into a strength. I wish they stop going on about Federer's saber...just sounds wrong.

Re: the Wimbledon Thread
For me if Murray wins his singles match tomorrow to win the Davis Cup he deserves to be acknowledged as one of the best British sportsmen in modern history.
No British man had won a grand slam in 80-odd years and he wins the US Open as well as Wimbledon. Beat Federer to win Olympic gold. Would have almost single-handedly won Britain their first Davis Cup is 80-odd years, being only the third person in history to win 8 singles matches in a Davis Cup World Group as well as three doubles on the bounce. Far from one of our most popular sportsmen, often gets caned in the press who gloss over the last decade having been by far the strongest in the history of men's tennis.
Fact is that tennis facilities etc in this country are miles behind other countries and there has been a complete dearth of decent players for nearly a century. People like Carl Froch and Lewis Hamilton have done brilliantly but there's a reason why we've had plenty of boxing and Motorsport champions but no tennis ones.

Because they are all loaded. Tennis wasn't considered a sport for all backgrounds in Llanelli.

After bestiality, incest and felinfoel there probably wasn't time for tennis.

Come on GB and Andy.
Re: the Wimbledon Thread
I love the crowds at Davis cup matches, but this crowd was mental at the start, several cervezas later and their manic.
Re: the Wimbledon Thread
We've never seen it before, and we might never see it again. But we won, we won.
