Arsenal supporters have made it perfectly clear that they are happy to pay these prices.
From a personal point of view I make a point of boycotting all category A games.

West Ham have been singing it since October: https://youtu.be/bk6C9drxTUwarseofacrow wrote: Can someone tell me if we used that ozil tune first or did West ham?
Ozil chant started at Stoke away in January
Re: AWAY TICKET PRICES CAPPED
This is really good news, especially for the bigger clubs that have been stiffed for more.
Last 3 away tickets i've bought: Scum @ £44, Everton @ £39, West 'aaaaaaam @ £56
£26? That's going to be a massive difference over the course of each of the next three seasons. Wonder what impact it's going to have on the credit situation though.
It's actually almost reasonably priced. Have the Premier League taken a knock to the head or something?

Re: AWAY TICKET PRICES CAPPED
and as someone mentioned, it's going to start the ball rolling with home-only fans kicking off now about the price differential.
They will find it difficult to backtrack on what's happened today after wanking on about how they value the away fans so much. So it could be the first step on a road of gradual price reductions.

Re: AWAY TICKET PRICES CAPPED
So home fans will pay way over double what S*rs and United will pay at the emirates for the equivalent seat? That's hardly fair.
Hopefully the home fans will now kick up a fuss because it's completely wrong to give preferential treatment to away fans. Discounts should apply to all fans, as why should a family of 4 Arsenal fans travelling down from Birmingham pay over £300 for home tickets against United whilst a family of 4 in London pay £104 for an away game at United?
Also, away tickets will become even more difficult to get hold of too, so this wonderful news will only benefit a select few whilst the majority continue to pay daft prices whilst also unable to watch away games!
Seems like all animals are equal but some are more equal than others. Bollocks to it.

Call me a cynic, but when does the Club announce the Wenger contract extension? It must be really soon.
Re: AWAY TICKET PRICES CAPPED
Great news. About fucking time
Sadly, I'll be just as unable to go to matches due to home credits, registering, etc. There's no such thing as pay on the gate is there?

It's a start but, as others have said, a piss-take too; pay more than double what some prick who's only come to demolish our toilets has to watch us get our collective pipe rammed?

Unless the club adopt the Euro policy for all away games then credit farming will take place every game.

Re: AWAY TICKET PRICES CAPPED
Surely the club had an emergency board meeting at 1.05pm today to work out how they're going to recover the lost gate receipts via the home fans and/or season ticket holders?
The concept does sound good in theory, but it may well have the side effect of fans choosing away games over home ones (especially if the cost saving is 50% or more). Already in this thread, people have said they'll go to away games instead. May be fine for big clubs like ourselves, but are West Ham fans (for instance) going to pay £70 in their own soulless bowl next year when they can get a proper atmosphere away for £26?
From what I can tell, away ends are generally selling out quite well anyway. If anything, it's the home tickets that need discounting, but I assume that would be a harder price cap to implement and that clubs may challenge it.

Re: AWAY TICKET PRICES CAPPED
Just to counter this slightly, I think there is an accurate assumption that fans also incur travel costs to attend away matches whereas for home matches not so much. Away fans don't really save over choosing the home reverse when you take rail tickets into account.VoiceOfReason wrote:Surely the club had an emergency board meeting at 1.05pm today to work out how they're going to recover the lost gate receipts via the home fans and/or season ticket holders?

Re: AWAY TICKET PRICES CAPPED
I definitely agree that attending away games is generally more expensive (excluding the London derbies), but many of our fans - even the hardcore ones on this site - don't live in Islington. Flying in from Belfast or driving down from ****** Keynes likely wouldn't affect the price all that much IMO. Others may have different views though. If we're talking about away days at Sunderland, then your logic is undeniable.gp543 wrote:Just to counter this slightly, I think there is an accurate assumption that fans also incur travel costs to attend away matches whereas for home matches not so much. Re: AWAY TICKET PRICES CAPPED
Great news for those fortunate enough like myself to be on the Away Scheme or have a shed load of away credits. For those without either, they're really going to struggle to obtain tickets for away games. It will become a massively closed shop.
While there is an argument that some fans have large travel expenses to attend the Emirates, for the majority, the travel, accommodation, food costs etc of going to away games is far greater than a trip to the Emirates.
Re £64 CAT A price tickets for the same seat as an away fan paying £30 (the £26 is for Arsenal fans traveling away, not away fans traveling to Arsenal), unfortunately I cannot see this changing. Arsenal and other big clubs will absolutely not agree to a cap on prices on their home match day tickets because of the revenue that'll be lost, which you can understand in our case where we have invested millions into a stadium in order to reap the rewards of higher revenues (like it or hate it). Agreed CAT A games are overpriced, but don't forget the CAT B and C games are very reasonably priced as a result.
