Not saying it isn't true, but for an away game wouldn't they be in a hotel and on a curfew??

If he did go out, then he has let himself, the manager, the fans and the team down and should be severely reprimanded (possibly even sacked).

I wouldn't blame the manager as Iwobi is a grown man and should know what is expected of him and shouldn't need to be watched 24x7.
I'm surprised you say that Nick. At any football club, the manager should always set the tone and it's quite obvious at Arsenal that Wenger just indulges these useless little pricks.

In the last couple of months we've had this from Iwobi, Akpom smashing his car up whilst more than twice the limit and Bellerin pouncing around London looking like Little Lord Fontleroy. All in an age where they know that everybody has a camera and a video upload is two clicks away.

I know people will say that they're young men but these are highly paid athletes, representing one of the biggest football clubs in the world. They act more like extras on "I'm a twat from Essex".

Only an indulgent and weak manager would allow it

And before anyone reminds me of the excesses of the 1989 team - they backed it up on the pitch. This current lot are fucking useless !!!!

Agree with that, it doesn't really matter if he was out partying until 3am or at home in bed watching the Antiques Roadshow at 6pm....either way he's total gash.

My heart sinks every time I see him on the team sheet - horrendous player.

My point was that if I choose to stay in a nightclub until 3am knowing full well I have work the next day, that is my fault, not my bosses.
It is up to the boss to make sure his employees know what is expected of them, not to babysit them. People need to be responsible for their own actions.

I kind of agree with both viewpoints tbh. I absolutely agree that Wenger should set the tone and obviously doesn't, and he should not indulge them and obviously does. I also agree that these overpaid privileged arseholes are also adult men and should take responsibility for their own actions.

Fergie used to have taxi drivers and pub owners ring him if they spotted one of his players out on the town.....and that was midweek when there wouldn't be a game for days!

There's a culture of this happening at Arsenal - Giroud spent the night balls deep in some tart the eve before a game at Anfield, Scezeny was on the Woodbines every chance he got, Wilshere likewise puffing away on a shisha pipe in some nightclub.

It's all down to Wenger and his zero discipline approach - he's paralyzed with fear at causing conflict. Is it any wonder that with this type of culture rife at the club that we are in the mess that we are

Wenger has way too much faith in his players, they consistently let him down, most are grossly over paid due to his socialist wage structure

reality is he should never manage men he is not capable....they probably laugh at him behind his back....

I see your point Nick and normally I'd agree with you but if you knew that your boss would rip your throat out, or you'd immediately lose your highly privileged place in the hierarchy - you'd probably wait and go to a club on a different night.

And this is one of the top sporting clubs in the world in 2018. High standards should at the top of the boss's agenda but Wenger is well known for over indulging his precious, poncey little players.

Given the antics of the players I grew up watching this is powder puff antics. Considering the last time anything like this was reported of an Arsenal player was when the great Lord Bendtner was around. A nothing story.

Your completely missing the point. If Iwobi wants to behave like a twat, then he would better make sure he performs on the pitch. He is shit, and is only still at the club, because of Wenger's piss poor management.

Tony Adams turned up to a match vs Sheffield United I am sure and played pissed. Ray Parlour had a few pints before a game too.

I doubt Iwobi even had a beer, just as you say he's shit and in this era of social media when you fuck up on the pitch, every little thing gets scrutinised in the post match inquest.

A nothing story?? WTF are you talking about??

He is a very highly paid, professional footballer with a hugely privileged lifestyle. With that privilege comes a huge responsibility, none more so than to the thousands of supporters that paid up and travelled to Nottingham to watch the team.

There are 7 nights each week and he can go out on any one of them. He did not have to go out on Friday night and certainly not until 3.30am on Saturday morning.

What he did shows a total lack of discipline and a total lack of respect for the supporters. It shows also (Yet again) that modern Arsenal is run like a Sunday morning team and that is a big story.

Tony Adams & co were immature and stupid but they backed it up on the pitch. Iwobi & co are a bunch of flashy nobodies that are awful on the pitch.
