We could have beaten West Ham and Saints and lost to Liverpool AND Newcastle. We’d have the same points from those games. 6.xisstential wrote: ↑Mon May 08, 2023 10:09 pmAnd West Ham......who knows though, if we had won those we might have buckled against Newcastle. Still should have won them though.

All we can do is take it a game at a time and ask them the question. There's no doubt in my mind we've fucked it already though Liverpool D then it should've been dust ourselves down at West Ham and move on..then Soton ffs and to top it off we got backskulled at Citeh a horrendous run that's cost us.All we can do now is take it a game at a time and make them have to win it.BobbyPires7 wrote: ↑Mon May 08, 2023 9:59 pmWe have to keep City honest. Just looked at their fixtures and they have 5 games in 14 days at the end of the season. We just have to keep going. Something could happen although I personally don’t think it will.
Still fucked off with Southampton game.

For Arteta to allow us to unravel like that is just maddening. Jorginho and Trossard sat on the bench (and Kiwior and Tierney) as Partey, Holding and Zinchenko shit the bed 4 games in a row. It’s like having an umbrella in your bag and simply refusing to put it up as you get drenched in a torrential downpour. Literally mind boggling shit management.falkirk goon wrote: ↑Mon May 08, 2023 10:18 pmAll we can do is take it a game at a time and ask them the question. And he'll still pick Zinchenko at LB in the remaining games even though he is the new "Xhaka' and a total fucking disaster in defence

Agreed. Tierney is fit so why not play him? If we sell Tierney this summer and start the season with Zinchenko as left back then history will simply repeat itself. Teams have worked out that we are weak as piss down the left with him.

Not grasping at straws, but hopefully an objective assessment of City's fixtures.
Two games v Real will certainly take it out of them mentally and physically .... Haaland and de Bruyne will be targeted big time by the Real defence. Remember Salah in the CL final a few years back? Hopefully a draw tonight or a defeat, meaning they have to focus on next Wednesday.
Everton away, on the back of yesterday, will be well up for it. City will have to rest players if tonight is a tight game in Spain. And do you think Dyche will tell them to sit back and watch City's pretty football? No chance. Have some o' that!
Chelsea have a lot to prove. Crap results, but don't tell me they don't have class players. Who knows.
Brighton will be desperate to make Europe and by the 24th May will know what is needed to do so. Should have been playing them in the Cup Final, so will want to prove a point. Not a slam-dunk for City by any means.
Brentford have already beaten them at the Etihad. Toney's last game before a potential 9 month ban ..... last match of the season and could be a nervous one.
OK, so City are currently clear favourites, but you tell me with the two-leg Real semi, that there is no chance of them slipping up in the league? Injuries happen and tonight's game will be quite physical as Real will not 'out-football' them.
I genuinely think that at some moment in time over the next three weeks the league will be a 50/50 affair ... might be during a game or after one, but it ain't a done deal quite yet.
(PS If we f**k up against anyone, obviously all bets are off!)

Someone somehow needs to Tell Arteta that Zinchenko, whilst having skills as a Creative player... is NO Defender, with a decent Full-back behind him ie: Tierney) He could do well as a Midfielder, but for sure he is No Full-Back... He has made too many errors for him to continue in that position.BobbyPires7 wrote: ↑Tue May 09, 2023 7:58 amAgreed. Tierney is fit so why not play him? edit: Also Tierney and Martinelli work really well together as both an attacking and defending duo on the left flank.

I've said this before on here, if you tune in not really knowing anything about Arsenal, you'd be surprised if somebody told you Zinchenko was our LB.He seems to have license to roam all over the field, spending a lot of time in midfield. I mentioned on Sunday he was taking a throw in deep in Newcastles half, on the right hand side of the field. It's almost unbelievable. It's not like he goes marauding up the left touch line like a wing back, he just just seems to pop up all over the place.
And a lot of the goals we have conceded recently have come from where he should have been.....Left back!!

Liverpool game. His fault for their equaliser. West Ham. His fault for their equaliser. Southampton. His fault for their first and possibly their second and definitely their third!!xisstential wrote: ↑Tue May 09, 2023 1:16 pmI've said this before on here, if you tune in not really knowing anything about Arsenal, you'd be surprised if somebody told you Zinchenko was our LB.He seems to have license to roam all over the field, spending a lot of time in midfield. On the 2 occasions when he got tackled (sic) "Challenged" out of possession, he immediately chased back to either add a second line of cover or hassle their player/s and play.
Brighton are a well drilled, fluid, attack minded team so we will (once again) need to be On It From The Start both Physically and Mentally.
As much as the game against the Oily Knuckle Dragging, Sister Shagging, Lightbulb Worshippers may have taken out of the players, I am hopeful that the Experience of that game and the knowledge that they came through it victorious will Inspire and Urge them on to play at a similar level and Win (again).

I guess only time (and results) will tell mate. Thing is Tierney whilst being our best Left Back, struggles to play the inverted system because he literally has no Right Leg/Foot other than to stand on...and that can also cause problems.
