Olympiacos H Thurs 27th Feb, 8pm
Re: Olympiacos H Thurs 27th Feb, 8pm
We were a much better team when martinelli came on and we looked far more lively - simply cannot understand how this kid has dropped down the pecking order like he has

3-2 Sampadoria away 94-95, after extra time won on penalties. Can't think or find any more extra time victories after a search online!
We are so shite in Europe it's fúcking embarrassing!

It’s so simple to play against us. Sit in with 10 men behind the ball then come to life on set pieces.
Every high ball Everton put in our box Sunday was met with the same panic. We’d have been destroyed in the latter rounds by a good side.

Meh!
Better to go out now than getting dicked in the next round by a decent team.
Fuck European competition! Time to consolidate 7th place in the league, fuck off some of these mercenaries in the club and then get back to the bread and butter of the PL league before we even think about the CL or EL

Heart breaking AF. Played boring the whole 90, Auba rescued us but ultimately our defence cost us the game - albeit, Auba missing a sitter.
Beaten by one of the weaker, sitting deep sides of the competition who will be knocked out in the 1st leg by any decent team in the next round.
Truly felt like we would go deep this year, Arteta was sluggish with his changes, no sense of urgency and played like it was the 90th all along - just passing comfortably around the block acting like we are 4-0 up.
Martinelli should've started, I don't know why Laca started, winning 1-0 with away advantage and you don't start your best starting 11. Weird choices and no sense to close the game ultimately cost us a deep run in EL.
FA Cup is our hope - would probably go past P'mouth but that's about it. About time honeymoon phase is over, it was dawning upon everyone for far too long. Fix your shit and get back to basics and at least go SF/Final on this FA Cup ffs.
No blame on Auba here, everyone misses a sitter here and there, without him Arsenal would be far far behind where we are.

We beat Roma on pens in the champions league around 10 years ago (very approximately)Almunia is a clown wrote: ↑Thu Feb 27, 2020 10:40 pm3-2 Sampadoria away 94-95, after extra time won on penalties. Can't think or find any more extra time victories after a search online!

Cowardly, shameful, dogshit performance. And then you see wankers like Luiz on his haunches at the end pretending to be gutted. Fuck off you prick! A proper defender launches himself at that cross and gets something on it. Lazy, tired performance sums us up at the moment.
Re: Olympiacos H Thurs 27th Feb, 8pm
Gutted, absolutely gutted. Still in shock at that Auba miss in the 122 minute. Can't even think about slagging off the players. Something we haven't seen in European competition for a few years. I guess the culling can begin.

Martinelli doesn't make arteta's best starting 11 - recent starting line-ups should convince you of that
Re: Olympiacos H Thurs 27th Feb, 8pm
An abysmal performance that got the result it deserved.
So much sideways pointless passing. The play genuinely came to a standstill on a couple of occasions, generally when Pepe had the ball, before falling over after 3 step overs too many or passing it to the opposition.
An embarrassing performance
Oh well, at least we can focus on the league now...

How has Leno managed to put that out for a corner. He had to fucking kick it behind himself to do it
Re: Olympiacos H Thurs 27th Feb, 8pm
From minute 1, the attitude was shocking. Players ambling around as though the tie was over, then we slightly woke up when they scored, just pathetic. As for Arteta, we are in danger of going out so he brings on Willock, one of the most ineffective players at the club. Also gives Lacazette 105 minutes to stink the place up before taking him off. Aubameyang's goal should have won it but that would have massively papered over the cracks, we are going nowhere as a club and tonight was another example of that.

Re: Olympiacos H Thurs 27th Feb, 8pm
To put it into context, there has been something like 1 or 2 instances of sides winning away and then getting overturned at home in nearly 3 decades of CL history.
We managed that tonight against some bunch of average perennial also-rans of European football.
Arteta has an incredibly difficult job but until he stops starting Lacazette and Ceballos/Xhaka he will have very little support from me. They are all fucking garbage.

Imagine this shit show without Auba’s goals next season. Fucking grim times ahead.
