WALCOTT - which position is best etc?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Physically he looks lacking a bit of sharpness.

I do not go along with the view he avoids getting involved.

I think the return of Ozil and Sanchez will help him get back some form.
I'm the other way around. I have thought he's been carried for the past few years & have been slagged off by many for my views. Now I don't feel so alone about it. One thing in his defence that I can relate to, having been injured many times as a player also, (centuries ago!), It gets harder every time you come back from injury, especially the tackling /being tackled bit !!. I wish him luck in his athletics career where no one kicks you. :barscarf: :barscarf:

Some things you should just keep to yourself

94min, a properly trained, drilled, disciplined professional would have played in the new boy in for his debut goal.

Idiotic and un-professional.Don't give me that "he is a striker" and has to try etc..

Any decent attacker worth their name would have put the game to bed one way or another.

At this rate, Woy would be mad to take him to the Euro's. He's utterly shite.

Was just laughing when i saw Wally one on one with the keeper, no way he was going to score, the guy is mentally a coward

No way brave enough to be a striker

We all moan about the bad press Arsenal get and when one of our players get some good press there is moaning too

Like him or not Theo is one of ours - long may the press like him

Flash I would rather the press said nothing about him than give the guy undeserving praise cos there are far too many absolute fools who base their opinions on everything they read/hear in the press. The fact is that he knocked in 3 very good crosses last night (rvp should have scored from the 1st one) and I will credit him for that cos he has earned it but lets not get carried away about his ability here. Many of you that remember eddie mcgoldrick playing for us in the 90's absolutely hate the guy but watch the season review video and see how many assists the guy had that season so my point is that assists and stats only tell you part of the story and for me theo has neither the brains nor skill to be a top level player and if he wasnt english he wouldnt be getting the media love in that he currently enjoys
Will also add that the good press he is getting might also be down to the fact that the guy keeps putting himself out there publicity wise so that helps him too

Felt the need to quote a previous post of mine.........from march 2012 !!!!

Never gonna be good enough for a top club, and having kept him at the club for 10 years is now nearly as embarrassing as giving the captaincy to average almunia back in the day

If he was a top class striker Arsenal would have scored, the scorer would have been the clinical striker or the debutante set up by the intelligent striker who saw the bigger picture. No boxes ticked on either criteria.

I still see Wally as a new boy! He has to prove himself and all he did yesterday was prove that he isn't a clinical striker. I hate to be so negative about him, he is a lovely bloke, but he just isn't doing his job most of the time.

My 10 year old then just stared at the screen and said "How did he miss that?" in genuine disbelief. :| :(

Get rid.

He'd have been a superstar at a Europa league level team. He's never quite made the top level. A good footballer with amazing pace, who every couple of seasons for a half dozen games would have us all fooled that he was an amazing footballer. Jokes on us as hes rolling in it.
