Wigan Carling cup

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

The game was only included for Platinum members, Gold members had to buy seats.

Wilshere was the SkySports Man of the Match.

True, but he was not as active as Ramsey. What he did though was some top quality passing.

Given that it was a sell out why were there so many empty seats? :?

That has to be the smallest away section we've had at the Grove so far!

Got a bit lucky when Djorour elected to handle the cross but thankfully his moment of madness was missed by the referee. Wigan were poor and the likes of Gibs, Randall and Fabs got away with other errors from Wigan's lack of intent but we played some good stuff going forward, if not for Kirkland and some greedy moments, we could have got five. Lots of good players on show and a delight to see such play, well done youngsters

We had more fans than usual in one way in that home fans were allowed to sit in part of the area that is usually for away fans.

Seemed to be more empty seats in club level than usual, downstairs was packed.

Have to sat they were all great last night. For that team to play so well against what in essence is wigans first team is unbelievable. Randall had his best game in an arsenal shirt, looked far more comfortable in a slightly more defensive role. Ramsey is so good on the ball, and rarely gives away possesion. Wilshere i think if he gets the chance can become as good if not better than theo, he has more balance and is a better passer than theo was at his age. Vela just has to get a start against villa, i think he gives us somthing totally different to offer (anyone else see a bit of Ian Wright/Michael Owen(at his peak)in him). Djourou i think also deserves a shot in the first team. Simpson is also a great finisher but has a bit longer to wait.

On the whole just a great performace by all.....bring on the next round.........its fucking great watching the kids play soooooo well. :barscarf:
