The German gravy train toot toot
So Wenger exhausted the French market that then saw all and sundry pick the carcass.
Now it seems the new market is Germany. Outside the
Bundesliga there cannot be too many clubs with five Deutchlanders
like Arsenal have. It is of course touted that in January AW will be back
in the market to snap up even more German talent.
I was always convinced Gotze would be ours and despite being wrong and rightly
ridiculed for it, I stood by my conviction that AW would tap into that market.
I fancy he will make a move for Reus or Draxler but I think it's wise to suggest that
Whoever he does go in for they will be international class and 30 million plus.
My question is, do you guys think its a good thing for the club to develop a team around a
German back bone?

I don't think nationality really matters TBH. The invincibles had only Ashley and Sol as regular Englishmen and we didn't get criticised for that back then, probably because we were so darn good!
Of course language barriers are a factor but most Germans and Dutch speak fluent English so I don't see the problem. Also their game is similar to ours. You can rarely go wrong With German talent. They are consistently in the top half of international teams and I don't think that will change soon.
IMO our scouts should be looking at Spanish and Germans extensively, with Dutch and Portugal as close runners up. France has had its day and I haven't been impressed with anyone since Henry. Even Ribery is an overrated hack IMO.

I would take Reus in a heartbeat.
But Ox and Poldi will be back until Jan (I hope ) and as far as I've seen Reus always plays on left wing, so with two (+sometimes Cazorla) already there, there is no chance Wenger will buy another one.
Lewandowski would be nice too, pre-contract in Jan for free transfer in summer or maybe 20m in January, he's definitely worth this money for a 25 year old
As for defenders, Łukasz Piszczek or Hummels would do just fine
Maybe Wenger will see some potential when we play them in CL.

A resounding JA! to the original question. But apart from Draxler would any of them come? Dortmund are big players in European football these days and the likes of Reus, a boyhood Dortmund fan, are very much in favour with Klopp. If we were to get Klopp next summer though.......
And back to reality

Get a German manager in. Low or Klopp now you talking
Re: The German gravy train toot toot
Arsene will be gone come May and like you say either of those two will come in.donaldo wrote:Get a German manager in. Low or Klopp now you talking
Personally I want Klopp, we would love his eccentricity down at the Grove and he actually goes for something weird called tactics and defensive organistation,,,,,I've heard of them what are they all about ?
Re: The German gravy train toot toot
I don't think nationality matters but what I do think the German players will add to our team is discipline. This can only be a good thing for us.

Reus is an Arsenal fan and Rosicky is his idol apparently.

Echo the above comments about nationality not really being important - it's just that Germans and Spaniards account for a huge portion of the top players in Europe at the moment. The PL has already raided La Liga for the likes of Mata, Cazorla, Silva, Navas and given that there's no hope of enticing happy players away from Madrid or Barcelona it makes sense that Germans are now the main targets.
