I think the days of buying a top flight club and pumping money in are going out of fashion. Unless you're a sovereign wealth fund like the Saudis or Man shitty lot, there's no point because you're not going to stand a chance. Public opinion has also turned against individual owners and it's harder for one owner to provide evidence of their money coming from legal sources than it is for a national wealth fund. There aren't many of the mega wealthy funds left and the money it has cost City and will cost the headchoppers to compete are astronomical. Loom at the money wasted in Paris for absolutely fuck all in reality.
The next stage of ownership is going to be buying a club down the divisions and getting the ego trip and attention that goes with it. Wealthy owners are going to start targeting clubs with decent fan bases in the second or third tier where the initial costs are lower and the impact more immediate. Pouring money into the scum is worthless in so many ways.
The lad that wants to buy Man Utd could go for the spuds now.

I was always happy with Lewis owning it and Levy running it, because I knew they'd remain in their state of nothingness. My concern, knowing that Lewis was old, was what would happen when he was gone, or decided to sell up. I'm worried.
Not so sure that and Arab individual or SWF would touch them given there 'jewishness' and revelling in in (nothing wrong with thay and we are as equally Jewish in fan demographics I'm sure) but we do make a thing of it and imagine some of their fans would make an outcry, whilst others would be delighted to simply have a owner who will spend stupid money, Same with us, but with them feels a bit different given the history between Muslim owners and Judaism.
Should matter as its a modern world but I think that may limit who buys them, or maybe I'm clinging to that as thrbjope they don't get bought out by some sheikh.

I'm currently working with a guy that left the spuds finance team last week. He was a contractor there for 18 months and walked last week when the financial irregularity news broke. He told me yesterday that there is definitely irregular activity within their finances and he quit so that he doesn't get tarnished by any future fallout, should the journalists get to the truth.
He also said that the Kane to Bayern story is greatly exaggerated as there's been almost no discussion between the clubs yet. It's been whipped up by the club to try and inflate his transfer fee should United want to come in for him again. Having said that, Bayern asked about his availability in June and a deal might eventually happen but it is in Kane's hands. Apparently he thinks that playing abroad will affect his England career. The final thing he said was that the culture at Totteringham is "What Harry wants, Harry gets".
