Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to end speculation over Arsenal future by signing new 3yr contract, which will enable him to become best-paid #AFC player. Arteta intervention key & relations with 31yo + father fundamental to getting deal over line

Areta has from day one said that he will not reach out to try and convince players to join AFC, and they either want to be with us or they dont - is this a change in policy from him ? Personally I have never agreed with the idea that he should refuse to try and persuade a player who might not be sure about joining us, but at same time if he makes a bold proclamation he sure as shit better stick to it

Arsenal have turned down a loan offer for Hector Bellerin. The french side have now agreed to sign Alessandro Florenzi from AS Roma instead. The Spaniard stays at the Gunners [@FabrizioRomano]. https://t.co/4VClb03ZLA

Surely that was just a soundbite though? The point he was making is that he doesn’t want players who don’t want to play for us. That’s a fair comment.

In reality, it’s the managers job to convince players that this is the right club for them to join. That’s what we want Arteta to do.

In auba’s case, as with all players, you may be happy to stay at a club if all conditions are right. Salary is obviously an important part of that, which is fair enough.

Tbf, all the noises coming out of Lyon suggest that they are happy to sell him - their sporting director (juninho - not the middlesborough one) has publicly spoken about our interest and citeeh's alleged interest and also off his own back started saying that he might not be the right guy for psg right now, so he is absolutely hawking him around to get the best price

The Independent say #Arsenal have reluctantly decided to sell Emi Martinez & will now continue talks with Aston Villa, who are expected to make an improvement on their £15m offer for the goalkeeper. https://t.co/gmAkwIlRT8

He has apparently rejected our new contract offer ( no idea what we were going to increase his £20k a week wages to)

He, understandably, wants first team football, I would love us to keep both him and Leno but that’s maybe not realistic.

Given our pressing need to strengthen elsewhere in the team, a fee of £20m can go towards making a big improvement to our midfield with either Partey or Aouar, if we can scrape a few dimes and nickels from the back of Stan’s sofa.

Some of that money will have to go on a replacement.20 mil is too low for him.

Arsenal know how to deflate the fan base don't they. The ONLY way this transfer is acceptable is if that £20m is used towards getting the Partey deal over the line.

If Arsenal just see it as a way of meeting existing liabilities such as Ozils wages, then they can fuck off. You can have all the job titles you like in the club, but the reality is nothing gets done unless its rubber stamped by the Kroenke's. That's why year after year these deals take forever to get over the line while everyone other big clubs goes about their business in a much more ruthless fashion. The way Chelski have strengthened their squad without a decent CDM at Arsenal I cannot even see Arteta's superior tactical nouse over BFFL being enough. Kai Havertz for example is mustard.

According to ESPN, PSG do not want to pay #Arsenal's £35m valuation of Mattéo Guendouzi but could offer Julian Draxler or Idrissa Gueye in a player-plus-cash deal if they push forward on their interest. https://t.co/k7T1nckgit
