VAR

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Just read that the Turkish Football Federation has agreed to use foreign VAR officials in certain games due to bias decision making.

Bias is of course one step away from corrupt.

And if its happening there, then you can put your money on it happening across all the major leagues

With all the money that is awash in football ( see the bbc report on money spent on agents as an obscene example https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/68794902) there must be a very likely scenario that refs / assistant refs / VAR have been subject to bribery or blackmail.
Given the amount spent on gambling on football and the number of gambling organisations involved in sponsorship etc it’s madness.
Bringing in the automated offside decision might help, but in sports like boxing, horse racing, snooker, cricket, cycling - match fixing / drug taking / cheating on a large scale has eventually come to light.

It is present in football but not yet had its cover blown, other than FIFA etc being gifted money to decide where the World Cup goes .

I've always held to the belief that money ruins sport eventually. Since the Big money came into football I've enjoyed it less and less over the years. Money has killed loyalty, tradition, things like the concept of the one club man, led to the rise of the pimped nothing little clubs like the chav$ and cheateh, brought about the parasitic vermin that are agents, turned players into mostly unlikeable gangsta looking twats in gold chains and thousand dollar tracksuits.... the list goes on. :( :x

Premier League clubs to vote on scrapping VAR:

https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/arti ... n1ndlknk1o

It'll be interesting to see what with happens with this. It isn't working in its current model and needs scrapping completley for a season while they work on a version of it with clear guidelines and protocols that are broadcast for all spectators.

I'm afraid that it will be a case of trying to get the genie back in the bottle. Can you imagine the howls of outrage and fury when the ref/linesmen make a fuck up that the TV cameras analyse to the nth degree, with slow mo back and forward repeats from a million camera angles? They'll be demands for replayed games, sackings of officials ( :rubchin: hmmm, not so bad  ) and probably law suits. All hell would break loose.

I don’t think Ref’s and.VAR like being held accountable for their blatant incompetence or bentness.

Scrap it so that “mistakes” get hidden as human error rather than deliberate, intentional descisions.

As predicted from the start, the corruption and deliberate sabotage has worked!

Bring back the laced up pigs bladder, the tape for a crossbar and one substitute! Long live the forward thinking English game

Good fucking riddance to the most stupid badly thought out badly implemented fucking game killing pack of fucking shit there has ever been. Fucking VAR has sucked the enjoyment out of the best part of the game: spontaneously celebrating a goal. Sucked it fucking dead like Kerry Katona in a pub carpark of a Friday night. :x :censored:

Fuck VAR. :censored: :barscarf:

I'm sure the Majority of Football Fans (in the English) Leagues want VAR to be removed from the game, but sadly and regrettably I don't think it is going to happen.

Even so perhaps some Good can come out of Wolves calling for a Resolution - where the Teams in The Prem actually get to Vote.

There was an interview on Radio 4 this morning with Keith Hackett who said many of things that many fans have been suggesting for ages; besides the removal of VAR

he said something along the lines of:

If VAR is to continue they need 'Dedicated Teams' to operate VAR and it is vital that they be run separately from the In Game Officials.

(Considering VAR was meant to 'assist' the Ref and Officials) It has now taken over the decision making and so Game Officials are no longer making their decisions based on what they see and witness, but are deferring to VAR; in other words the Ref's / Lino's are relying on VAR which as such has dis-empowered them to the point where they may as well not be on the pitch.

He went on to suggest that IF VAR was to continue, a whole load of changes and improvements need to be made ASAP:

So only Clear and Obvious Errors are checked, not all these minuscule lines of whether someone is on or off-side. The Hand Ball Rule needs to be Looked at and changed.

plus a few more very worthy suggestions.

Then they suppose with Mark Palios - what a Snivelling little shitbag he is...

He thinks VAR should be Kept that there were a 'few teething problems' that needed ironing out :blah: :blah: :blah:

They have invested Huge Amounts of Money in VAR and so for that reason alone they will move Heaven & Earth to avoid it being dropped. VAR also allows those "In Charge" to dictate the outcome of games and so titles and trophies . Corruption Rules. End Of.
