yes agree with all above Stuart...his tackling is superb...the way he sees danger and hes right there on the spot to snuff it out...moves quickly to carry the ball out to move into attack....love watching the blokeStuart L (2) wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2024 5:44 pmHe has impacted both ends of the pitch for us
We are more solid defensively with him playing deep and protecting the back 4 but he also can play higher up, giving us opportunities to win the ball back in the final third and be straight on an offensive.
Carrying the ball is also a big strength of his, deceptively quick and has the engine to keep going all game.
Our player of the season so far, I would say, possibly the premier league player of the year and he is still only going to get better.
If the question was posed now would you buy Declan Rice for £105m I would hope the answer would unequivocally be yes 100% as his signing in its own has transformed us.

Could well become a box to box player if we signed an additional defensive midfielder with quicker legs than Jorginho, who can control the tempo off a game but not get around swift attacking threats.

Who are we playing this evening?
I'm enjoying sitting down after dinner with a cuppa tea and watching us put 4 or 5 goals past the opposition.

Very good performance against a dreadful side, who Wilder had set up in a suicidal fashion to begin with. Still, it's one thing to keep noting that we've played a number poor teams, but it's another thing to keep putting 5's and 6's past them.
I wish for once that when we're 4 or 5 up at half time, we would continue in the same vein second half and stick 8 or 9 past a team. We've never been ones to do that. Anyway, some cracking performances and having Saka and Martinelli on song in a way that they weren't before January, is making a big difference. Odegaard, when given time to play is devastating (as long as he moves the ball quickly), but he needs to show that he can do it in the tough games. Rice making a big difference when free to get further forward.
I have to laugh at all the fanboys getting carried away with Havertz. He finished very well for his goal, but that apart was bang average even against this lot. His first touch is still generally crap and his distribution poor. He'll also miss more clear cut chances than he'll score. Maybe we should resist getting too carries away until we've seen him against City, the scum and Utd.
The subs we made killed the game and if evidence were needed that Partey needs to be sold, that Vieira isn't good enough and that Jesus is not the striker we need, then it was there for all to see.

Don’t think anyone could argue that all 3 woefully brought the levels down.Midz wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2024 7:57 pmDitto.Retro Gunner wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2024 7:54 pm

Cedric ? Could have put Ramsdale there for 20mins
Re: Blades bumholes A Mon Mar 4th KO 8pm
I remember 'Southampton were surprised when Arsenal showed an interest in Cedric' - we can all see why now.
Re: Blades bumholes A Mon Mar 4th KO 8pm
From the start he was miles of the level required to get in an Arsenal first team....reality is cant go through season carrying non performing players in the hope that one day they will perform...same applies to Nekitah, zinchenko and viera
Seen other posters stating viera made a good pass against fulham? he might get better one day ridiculous they get paid millions to perform and if they cant they should be out
Re: Blades bumholes A Mon Mar 4th KO 8pm
Noticed Saka not always looking to cut inside and use his left foot...many times now see him going to the line crossing with his right....and scoring a few as well...looking a more complete player
Hes looking devastating now....lets see what happens at city in a few weeks time

Was very suprised that his low cross that got turned in for the o.g didn’t go down as an assistRedarmy wrote: ↑Wed Mar 06, 2024 10:16 amNoticed Saka not always looking to cut inside and use his left foot...many times now see him going to the line crossing with his right....and scoring a few as well...looking a more complete player
