As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
No, the two I'm working on at the moment are in Norway and South Korea. I work for the UK company that has the contract to build them.
Incidentally, I'm not in Islington. I might come from Islington but that doesn't mean I work there.
and there are nuclear power plants in Islington?[/quote]

What's your actual job Pancho. I imagine you as a very entertaining after dinner speaker
nothing as glamouros...but I WAS LEADER OF THE STUDENT UNION AT Uni...many mnay yrs ago..
Now I just work for da man...boring IT management ..I work for a large company and I lead the IT for the staff of over 220...its dull mostly , but I do get up and down the country to all the offices and am left to my devices...it helps when I am sooo good that the IT just ticks over without a fuss.

You could get a job at our place. The IT never runs smooth here. Our IT manager does exactly what every iT person does. i.e. He has a super fast system with huge screen and every conceivable add on, whilst I've got a machine as old as, and effective as a sinclair ZX81. Tosser. I can't have a new one as it is not in the budget

however I aint a typical "beardy weirdy" ..we do have some working here , but I have more " managerial " responsibilities..in other words I am allowed out of the office and I get to wear normal clothes rather than
"Dilbert" tshirts annd stink of BO and red bull

I hear what you're saying but I do occasionally have to do some work too. It would be nice to get through a whole task without crashing. The internet is about the only thing that works well.
When I come in each day I switch it on then go and get a coffee, deal with my post and chat up the receptionist (He's a really nice bloke ) and when I get back to my desk I only have a couple of minutes left to wait before it is ready.
Pancho wrote:perhaps you have "program issues"...have you been visitng naughty sites?
ask you friendly IT guy to "clean" your machine...there may be hidden programs driving down CPU power .
I have never visited a naughty site on my works pc but have done so on my (own) laptop. I have what I think is the best anti-virus etc. on that machine. It's like a two foot thick condom. F*ck all gets through it.
I think the machine is at work is just knackered to be honest. It had a new motherboard 6 months ago and various other bits but is no better. It's just old and well used. I've had it three years and the guy before me for at least a couple.
