I didn't ASK anyone to be mods because I didn't need to.
All the new mods volunteered themselves to help the forum. If they hadn't then it's quite likely there wouldn't be a forum now, so perhaps some of you should be grateful to them rather than criticise.

Re: THE FORUM AS IT IS NOW
I question why I spent over an hour replying to some of the issues this morning when some people have obviously not bothered to read it. By all means disagree and feel free to suggest a rule which you feel clearly defines when swearing is fine and when it's not. However, if you think I've banned it ...

Re: A few points
I'd like nothing more than for Wenger to accept that he needs to change his approach to succeed. However, like many on here, I don't believe it's going to happen which is why I felt the time for change was last summer. I know plenty of people, whose views on football I respect, do not agree with me ...

Re: THE FORUM AS IT IS NOW
Thanks for the positive feedback about the new look forum. I know some people hate change so appreciate that it may not be to everyone's liking, but hopefully you'll all grow accustomed to it. Thought I'd take the opportunity to respond to some of the comments which have been made and attempt to cla...

No - that was me hitting the wrong button. Was trying to edit out the swearing in the post you'd quoted and somehow hit the quote button instead.augie wrote:Mike quoted my post but didnt inc anything of his own in the post but now the whole post has disappeared - should I be worried ??

Re: Welcome to our new Mods!
In answer to your question about swearing Sid... No, it's not allowed. And if you carry on trying to find out what is allowed and what's not, it will be classed as flagrant abuse of the rules and you'll be banned - no warnings, just a ban. It also wasn't just your thread which caused me to suspend t...

Re: Wenger Out Banner
The forum is about respectful debate and discussion, so in some respects I don't see any reason to lock this thread. However, it was one of the threads which I received a lot of comments about with people, wrongly, assuming that because it was on this forum that it somehow reflected the views of eve...

Welcome Back!
After five weeks away, the forum is back with a new name, a new image, new functionality and, most importantly, some new rules. When we first launched the forum six years ago we weren’t really sure how it would develop, but the underlying principle was the same which had underpinned The Gooner since...

Re: Forum Re-Opening
Apologies to everyone who has been asking about the delay in the forum re-opening. We've had a few technical issues with completing the upgrading, but now think we've overcome these and hope to have some more positive news in the next few days.

Forum Re-Opening
Thanks to everyone who has been in touch about the forum. I’m pleased to say that the forum will be re-opening within the next week or so, but we are taking this opportunity to address a number of issues. Firstly, the forum software will be upgraded to the latest version which will provide us with...

With regret...
There are a lot of frustrated Gooners around at the moment and don't for one minute think that I'm not one of them. The Gooner has always been about providing a platform for Arsenal fans to have their say and this forum has been an extension of that. However, I strongly believe that it's possible to...

Welcome back Roly... I'll let people decide whether I really mean that or not! However, I'm pleased that you've finally acknowledged the fact that The Gooner is not financially linked to the club. One-nil to me I think. I guess because you lost that argument, it was to be expected that you'd try a d...

Respect
Call me old-fashioned if you like, but I like to think people don't have to resort to being abusive if someone has a view which is not in line with their own. It's something I've noticed not to be the case whilst moderating the comments on the main site and is the primary reason why comments are not...
