If Arsenal didnt exist

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

If Arsenal didnt exist

Post by Swale_Gooner1985 »

Just imagine you woke up one morning and Arsenal were no more and you had to support another football team...who would you support and why?

I would either support Fulham or Gillingham

Fulham because they are a decent, well run club with good fans

Gillingham because they are very close to where i live and i like their style of play

Good job Arsenal do exist really isnt it

Yep agree, if Arsenal didnt exist id probably go for Fulham - well run, and dont have many, if any, idiots in their team. Plus a ground by the river appeals on hot sunny days!!!

My Dad used to watch Charlton a fair bit, especially when he wasnt old enough to go to away games so I might be inclined to go there.

Neither team really compares though!!

Cant really imagine getting excited about any other team the way i do about Arsenal. The nearest ones to where i live are Colchester and Southend but havent got any feelings towards them at all. My mums side of the family are all Leyton Orient fans so id probably support them

Spurs. They play good football.

I'd support a non-league team.

I'd create a team in the south of London....dunno say Woolwich for example.

Then after some shaddy shennangans, wheeling and Dealing I'd upsticks and move the club North of the river. Suppose somewhere in Islington, perhaps!

I'd poke fun of our nearest rival however that maybe and even get them relegated with the help of some my friends (and some brown envelops!)

If we get to a major final I'd tell our keeper at the time not to rush out!

I'd also make sure there was some oil layed down on the road and something firm around the area at the point where a left sided full back is in contract negoations and hears the bad news.

All By which time I'd contact Eboue and see if he's son's as good as his father!

Saints are closest to me and used to watch them down at the dell as a youngster cos my eldest brother lived a stones throw away so probably them.

Always liked wolves for some reason too.

Nottingham Forest for me.

I used to watch them quite regular in the early 90's as I spent most weekends in Nottingham. I grew quite fond of the club and the set-up back then and always keep one eye on them even now. Was glad that they escaped relegation this year even if it did get a bit too close for comfort.

And they have won the CL

West Ham United  10mins away.

Or Dagenham & Redbrige / Leyton Orient. 8)

Simply because they are local.

i doubt i could properly support another team, as in passion. id probably just go to the odd fulham, chelsea, west ham match, just because theyre local so i can watch some football. my dad is a man utd fan, so i might waver with them, but i couldnt go to any games, that would put me off
